I wish you posted this video 6-7 months ago. I tried 4-5 months to get a job on react. Learned react a year ago. practiced around 3 months or so. After so many back & forth with many interviews, I couldn't get a single job offer. some of them were really close. it's been 3 months after being disappointed in myself I didn't write a single react code. And now I almost forgot everything about javascript & react. Trying to learn different stacks (PHP/Laravel) as these are popular in my country. Very few projects done on react here. It's very painful to think about those 4-5 months (I know I couldn't do it the right way). Now you are giving me hope again. Don't know what to do. (Maybe I should start learning Javascript/React again)
Hey, those 3 months of learning React were definitely not wasted. If you ever try React again I'm sure you will start to remember a lot of stuff you learned previously. If you already got many interviews that's a good sign. People are obviously interested in your skillset. I say keep going at it and try to find some weak points of you that you could improve. You will only fail when you give up. Good luck, and let me know how it goes.
@@AustinShelby Thank you for your inspiring words 😊. I really love javascript & react ecosystem & want to learn again. Your words gave me hope again. I will try again to get the value out of my skills. But this time I will follow your way to make it right (Hopefully) 😇 I will let you know the update. (It's gonna take a while). Thanks again :)
I am really liking videos and learning a lot . I specially liked the one css buttons. If you ever stop by Copenhagen on your way germany, let me know. I owe you a coffee 😁
@@AustinShelby In the video you mentioned Germany, so you were interviewed to work remotely for Germany (while living in Finland) or you wanted to move to Germany and work there? P.S Amazing RUclips channel you have, I'm loving it. I'd like more about your programming stories and not so many tutorials.
@@adrian-4767 Of course, I would have preferred working remotely but it wasn't an option. It's quite difficult to get a remote job as your first job but now it might be more possible. When I interviewed there I was still living in Finland so I ended up moving there after I got the job.
@@AustinShelby Taking into account that there are lots of web dev jobs in Finland, why would you move to Germany? You could perfectly have found a job in Finland and you wouldn't have the struggle of having to learn a difficult language like German (I know, the work environment is in English but other than that life in Germany is in German). The salary might be higher but...purchasing power? Not much of a differencece, I believe. Numbeo.com gives me almost the same purchasing power parity in Germany as in Finland (a bit higher in Germany, of course)
@@adrian-4767 I decided to move there as I think it's a cool experience to live in a foreign country. You don't get a chance like that often in your life. The working conditions are slightly better in Germany because you get more vacation days. The cost of living is also lower. For me the language wasn't a problem as you can get away with only speaking English.
Awesome story bro! I am currently a Junior Web Developer... using Laravel and Vuejs, but to he honest I am not yet confident with my skills and want to learn more on Laravel and Vuejs and other technologies. Should I focus on Laravel or do I need to focus on new technologies that has more demand kn the market? Thank you!
I just checked and there are not that many jobs for Laravel currently. If you already know Laravel and Vuejs it shouldn't be too hard to transfer those skills to other frameworks and languages. But try not to get too hung up on specific frameworks or languages. The general concepts that engineers use to build software apply to all of them. Once you know a few languages it becomes very fast and easy to learn a new one. Good luck!
This is amazing video with amazing history, is inspiring me to get my $60.000 job
Cheers! Good luck on your journey.
you encourage me to get true steps and go farther
thank you a lot
I love to hear that! If you dedicate yourself and work hard, you can achieve anything.
A very fascinating journey. Thank you for sharing.
Glad I found your channel! Really gold informations bro! 👌
Glad I could be of help!

Nice video
do you have the links for those reddit threads?
Austin Shelby thanks for the video. Where are you from? What's your native language? You have a unique accent.
Glad you enjoyed it! I'm from Finland

Bro please keep making videos.
Haha I've been lazy lately. I'll try to make one next week
Your videos on improving design are really good.
