    I am new here but Ive been watching your videos, im about to be a senior with an exercise science degree with pre pt concentration and i will have to take a gap year bc i changed my major in year 3 and ive been getting VERY discouraged about having to take a gap year to get classes done and gpa up with the remaining classes and this really gave me reassurance.

      you’re amazing!! there is absolutely nothing wrong with taking a gap year, it would have been so great for my mental health honestly. thanks so much for watching!! good luck to you💖

    hi Kristen thank you for making this video it's so useful, I would like to ask for the prerequest class are they all must take? If my college did not provide some of the course can I do something to make it up?

    • @kristennicolosi
      @kristennicolosi  3 года назад

      hi! most schools should have this classes as they are pretty standard, but if not see if you could take them at a local community college as you need to take them. maybe even take them over the summer. hope this helps!

    When graduating with your bachelors degree, is there a masters degree program next? Or is it straight to doctorate’s degree after 3yr PT grad school? Do you obtain both?

    • @kristennicolosi
      @kristennicolosi  3 года назад +1

      there is no masters, just the DPT after college!

    Exercise science/ kinesiology or psychology as a major for pre physical therapy i can't decide i think that Exercise science is better and more useful but I'm afraid that i don't get enough gpa for pt school and get stuck with that degree as i like psychology more any advice? And sorry if my comment is long to read

      this is a very valid point! i was a little worried about that as well. could you minor in something else like psyc? you can always change your major as well!

  • @courtneywilliams7168
    @courtneywilliams7168 2 года назад

    i am currently working on the same major as you but Im most worried about paying for it all. Do you know of any good sites for grants/scholarships for graduate school? If not what do you suggest?

    • @kristennicolosi
      @kristennicolosi  2 года назад

      hi!! to be honest, the majority of people take out loans for PT school, usually through grad plus and FASFA. some scholarships may be available at certain schools, ask when you tour! also, you may be able to get some scholarships while in PT School through different organizations such as APTA or APTA (your state chapter). also, of course in state schools will be the cheapest. private or out of state more expensive. hope this helps!

    • @kristennicolosi
      @kristennicolosi  3 года назад

      you can apply right out of highschool and he admitted. in 6 years you graduate with your bachelors and DPT from the same school!

    What type of associates degree did you go for?Currently trying to complete that before I go for my bachelor's.

    • @kristennicolosi
      @kristennicolosi  3 года назад +2

      i didn’t do an associates! I got me BS in exercise and sport science from the University of Georgia☺️ but i would say look for a degree that requires the same pre recs as PT School so you can knock out 2 birds in 1 stone. hope this helps💛

    • @kristennicolosi
      @kristennicolosi  2 года назад

      @Ayla Taylor you need a bachelors! then you can go on to get the Doctor in PT (dpt). if you do associates, you can only become a PT Assistant (pta)
