Both engine choices for skidoo are great. The 850 feels more playful and aggressive but the throttle response and smoothness of the 4 stroke is better though. The 850 feels faster for everything besides wide open on very long stretches or across lakes. If you compare the most popular model the renegade XRS the power to weight ratios for the sleds are almost identical. 850- 165 hp/ 488lbs PTW Ratio- 0.338 (Higher is better) 900R- 180hp/ 525lbs PTW Ratio- 0.336 (Higher is better) Power to weight is almost identical
While I was watching I was thinking to myself, looks like Pittsburg. Tall Timber is the best! Went there regularly for 15 years until I moved out to MN. Great video!
I ride a 900 turbo and this is a great review of the sled. It sure does feel planted when you lay in the throttle! I'm not sure why it dosen't feel as spinny as my past 2 strokes. Skisoo also does need to upgrade their dash. I bought the garmim GPS mount so I can see the trails
I have the same machine. I can't ride it in sport. To jumpy. I keep it in standard. Makes same power at full wack with out the jerkiness. Great review thanks.
Yeah the jumpy and jerkyness is definitely there i tried some good throttle control which helped but there was times out of no where it hit and I was like oh ok there it is lol

@@KotaBearTV I'm stepping off a 2013 cat f1100 turbo with bikeman tunes and many mods. I will be 50 this year and it's time to go back to a normal sled. I ride with a couple of guys who have the non turbo 900. They are so reliable and they have logged on mega miles. We ride central NH so trails are smooth and then you have the goat path trails. Seems this sled will work for me. Your video is one of the best I've seen so far. Slowbee has a decent video on one as well.
Thanks man means alot and the 4 stroke turbo power is different than the 2 stroke but still strong and like you said super reliable so you can put alot of miles on and not worry plus it sips fuel so long trips you don't have to worry about oil and fuel mileage is really good!!
Trail 140 looked good on that ride, glad you enjoyed the trails in the Burg, I have a camp on Lake Francis The 900 turbo is a great trail sled, I have a 16 1200 4-TEC, but I am strictly a flat trail rider ...
I'm old enough to admit my ditch banging days are over, but young enough to still do it. The newest sled I've had was a 03 Edge 800, sad to say. I have ridden newer rental sleds out west for yrs though. Thinking of ordering a new ride for 2022. 900 ACE turbo SkiDoo is up there on my list. A Matryx 650 is also in the running. I want smooth, quiet power and gas mileage on a sled that can deliver 250 mile days without beating a guy up. Matrix 650... or Renegade 900T?
I remember my uncle buying brand new 98 skidoo formula z I was 15 and that thing would weely for miles What it would leave them stranded I’m a Polaris man myself I’ve never owned one that has ever left me stranded knock on wood

That thing does seem like a beast. I got to rip on a 4 stroke max like 5 years back for a good 3 hour ride and I was impressed by how it felt actually. Stayin team 2 stroke for the foreseeable future though
The Pilot X skis are much better than the TX that are on the sled your on. Put some Bergstrom triple points up the middle and just a round wear bar on the outside and your golden. Have your buddy watch the Accelerated Technologies video on suspension set up, really improved my sled. Thought i was dialed in until I had them set up my suspension. Glad you liked the Doo.
people think that this sled has turbo lag but it is actually the throttle itself that lags because it is electric which I can not stand! I have a 2016 zr9000 and you can notice the difference on how the throttle is. mine is also built but that's another story lol!

That is a very hard decision I can tell you it would be very close which ever one I choose both sleds have great things about them that I like! So I would say right now its a 50 50 of what I would go with I would be extreamly happy with either
@@KotaBearTV ive tried a few arctic cat turbos just not the latest and greatest turbos they were heavy till i got on the gas the 2009 arctic cat tz1 turbo short track and another tz1 141 turbo same twin spar chassis diamond drive machines
There was a few times I did have to for sure but overall it corners pretty smooth also I think he needed to lower his carbides lower to the group to get more grip

For a four stroke, that thing sounded pretty good and looked pretty quick but I’ll still take my two-stroke. I’m sure the Mpg of that isn’t bad and that’s cool you don’t have to add oil to it if you’re doing longer trips and stuff that’s a pro but you probably gotta give her an oil change once a season. Before we know it they’re going to be making electric snowmobiles LOL

If the cam was in the upper position it won’t be as playful. Most of us move it into the more transfer position to get the full lively front end.

Matryx 650 would be better I think than thr 900 turbo definitely hard to steer than the 650 polaris and that 650 has some good power!!

Curious if that sled can handle deep ditches an tree lines drifts every once in while or even break fresh trail after a good storm .
In my experience it it will not more of a strict trail rocket

I had a 19 900t and was a good sled but I did sell it for the sidewinder and it was better for me!!

Well thats not true at all lol. The 900turbo is a better trail sled than the 850
The 4 stroke turbo 900 ace is a better trail sled than the other 4 stroke turbos its only 30 pounds heavier than the 850 xrs
Swap out the exhaust and save some weight..

The older ones I rode from arctic cat all they did was spin and never hook up good and you get in a foot of snow and you were stuck wasnt a fan

Has 4 stroke in the past....Never again, The weight sucks at the end of the day if you go off trail.
I had a 16 arctic cat 4 stroke and I felt the same way but this sled feels different and only weighs 30 pounds heavier than the 850 xrs 137
