Nice overview! Really makes me want to go back. Fun fact: my great, great grandparents were the people stuck on the valley floor in 1849. Two men hiked out to San Fernando Valley for supplies, then hiked back (28 days or something like that), saved the others and one of the two women, as they were hiking out, turned around and said “goodbye Death Valley” - 50/50 chance my ancestor named it.
