what I am so proud of when it comes to salman Rushdie is how proud he is about being Indian and born in Bombay. most indians who make it internationally - - firstly do not have to look typically indian , get absorbed much faster -- usually break up ties from their endianness he could've done a Freddie Mercury who did everything to deny his country of origin but chooses to say he is Indian in origin and with pride. if you ae Indian but don't look it , you tend to have a better chance internationally all the lily sings and priyankas and mindys may have acceptance but always have to fight for their ethnicity because they are constantly reminded of their brownness salman has the easy choice of dissociating from this and he never does. makes me proud .
