- In today's Europa Universalis IV (EU4 1.36 King of Kings) video we will be placing the Roman Empire as a one province minor in Roma in 1444, but they will have 1,000 development in their capital, making them a great power despite being one province!

1444 but nations start with no heirs. It would be fun to see the succession wars
I think there might be to many events that gives heirs for too much to change
Or every nation starts with the same dynasty
@@MrRoyalOss Same dynasty is funny, it ends up with Ming china getting a bunch of PUs and getting into succession wars across the world.
Isn't there a mod that makes everybody in Europe ruled by a von Habsburg?
@@KingKharibda PUs only work for Christians.
I would've been curious to see the cultural mapmode, if they had spread their "lost culture" group or just converted to umbrian day 1
with 1000 development in the province, it would be impossible to convert
@@user-je3sk8cj6g i mean. yeah it would have been impossible to convert the one province, but that has no impact on converting the rest?
Does the AI ever convert away from a culture if it's their starting, primary, and capital culture? Not sure
Eu4 but reformation centres convert provinces to a random religion.
In response to that title question...it would be the most played nation in the game. No contest.
Byzantium meanwhile:
I mean byzantium exists, those people literally viewed themselves as roman and a continuation as the roman empire. Byzantium is a name that was made up for it after it collapsed.
@@lodewijkbakker3246not really, it was a western name created for them, but it was not liked by the byzantines because that wasn't their real name, and often the term Byzantine was just a mock
@@heliogonzalezsanchez8227 If you look under the nomenclature entry on the wikipedia page you will see the first use referring to the "byzantine" empire occured after the fall of constantinople: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byzantine_Empire the source of the citation is pretty substantial as well: The Invention of Byzantium in Early Modern Europe. Harvard University Press.
@@heliogonzalezsanchez8227The name Byzantium was created by the Germans because they called themselves the Holy Roman Empire so that they would be the 'real' Rome.
Suggestion: only nations that start without feudalism
If anyone is interested I have a mod specifically about the rust and fall of empires, called Fall of the Empire, and an Extended Timeline version, with auto annex during civil wars, caused because rebels turn into tags/nations.
When the event fires, you can also choose to play as the rebels, so you could theoretically play as multiple different empires in one play through.
I’m listening…
The map without names looks cursed and pretty at the same time.
Honestly, I'm kinda glad that the Romans spread their glory into Africa, the Middle East, and India. It's beautiful.
Also, imagine if they had the cracked mission tree of Byzantium.
"kinda glad" piss off we all know you're a romaboo don't try to hide it
But... it does? "Byzantium" is literally the Roman Empire.....
I actually didn't know that, thankful for the insight!
Yeah, there is no such nation as Byzantium, that was the name of the Constantinople. The name was literally Eastern Roman Empire. Some historians after 18th century speculated that name.
Ah nice to see a video using one of my mods :) It was a hastily assembled to make a timelapse video
Those are the best ones imo!
"what if the ROMAN EMPIRE existed in 1444 in eu4"
it literally does though.
Yo mama though
Bring back the face cam, I don't know why but it just adds something extra
Coming back next week ❤️
@@Chewbert yessss
Holy Roman Empire this Roman Empire and revived Byzantium all at the same time
This would be cool to see with other op tags made into OPM
Hear me out. Supercharged OPM Rome + all tech vs. Byzantines with all monuments in Constantinople
should do one if these where both byzantium and rome are buffed up in some way and see how they expand together and if they end up fighting one another or working together somehow
Protestant Rome, definitly a new one
Ooh I like this scenario
we love the roman empire in this household
I got sucked into ira music the other day too. It's just so catchy
I think an interesting idea would be to see which nations would be more successful if they started out with a certain idea group. Like Milan starting out with full quantity or England starting out with full trade or Bizantium starting out with full religious. might not see anything too crazy but it would be interesting to see.
I had a custom mod like this before. A quite small Roman Empire with only 4-5 provinces near Rome, about the size of Florence.
Save went pretty good. However, the Commonwealth was so strong that they stretched from Berlin to Urals, from Finland to Toros mountains. We divided the Balkans by the Danube river, Northern half owned by the Commonwealth, Southern half owned by me.
Everything is going smoothly, Commonwealth standing around with more than a million manpower *deployed*, me standing around with over a million manpower deployed. I decide to go to war with Revolutionary Portugal, who owns Western and parts of South Africa, with too many forts. Hundreds of thousands die of attrition, emptying my reserves, starting to hit on my armies. And right during this war, succession war comes up. Brandenburg and Commonwealth against me. I take the chance, go on with the war.
That war saw atleast 4 or 5 million men die on both sides, both combat and attrition. Took over years, massive sieges, battles, losses and victories. It's still the most destructive and largest scale war I've seen in EU4.
Sounds fun the great war! Did you win it?
@@Pseudoplasmagore I did! At the cost of almost losing the British Isles and some other remote parts of the empire
How bravely you faced one with your 16 pounder gun
Plymouth is british because they colonized it before the canadians bordered plymouth so the game thought they were gonna form a thirteen colonies but instead all the other land was colonized when canada was bordering the colonies so it went to canada. Hope that made sense
What is the BGM in the intro?
you know who might pay chewy?
Spain obviously desired the Baltic amber trade
What about Carthage next?
Rome does infact have a mission tree in vanilla
My dream
What if everyone was the same culture group?
Make HRE with border and country look Roman Empire border, and byzantium with Rome, an Emperor. Of course ottoman, Grenada, tunis etc. country outside empire, occupated empire land.
Did someone say ROME?
Come out, ye black and tans
Come out and fight me like a man
Show yer wife how you won medals down in FlaAAAAaaaanders
Tell her how the IRA made you run like hell away!
@@Chewbert- from the green and lovely games of e u fouuuuurrrrr
ROMAVM IMPERIVM
can u do anbenarr please
What if the old world did not have feudalism
I am once again requesting that you remove the year requirement for institution spawns
Rome did exist in 1444. But not for long .
WHY DID YOU NOT SUPER CHARGE BYZANTIUM EITHER
I love how we is enjoying Irish rebel music 🇮🇪
Look out for one shot Paddy 👀
@@Chewbert Yes! Glóir’d Publacht na h’Éirinn!
Roman Empire and Arab Caliphate single handedly shaping Midetteranean societies drastically and without them Catholicism and Islam would not be as dominant neither would be Arabic and Latin
Everybody is Christian and have the same dynasty and no hairs. I want see chaos.
Eyaleti mısır is Egypt, Mısır means Egypt I mean
How could you ever see AI Mughals? I think they actually formed Mughals in one of my games, but they instantly formed Delhi after that. I could only see that in province history. So AI instantly goes from Mughals to Delhi.
Mughals is an end game tag, so if you play with that rule on they won’t do that
it is already exist in 1444
As a Protestant Christian and a Roman enthusiast, I love this protestant Rome 😂 😂
Eu4 but there are no truces
ROMA INVICTA!!!!
999
You right let me remake the intro
Super confused by that 'Black and Tans' statement. 'Black & Tans' refer to the colors of the uniform used by British soldiers that suppressed the Irish independence movement and was also used to refer to the soldiers, themselves. It has nothing to do with the Zulu, the Zulu Wars, or the color of their skin (if that's what you were implying).
Bro you’re a bot if that’s what you walked away from that comment with. I literally said why it was relevant in the video and you purposely misread it to talk about race lol. Go outside and touch some grass
Imagine watching a video all the way through just to cry in a comment about imaginary racism you made up because you have nothing better to do 😂
@@Chewbert Hey, Chewbert. I love your channel and I'm not trying to make a statement about race. I just wanted to provide the correct context for 'Black & Tans', as I am also a lover of Irish Folk and a supporter of the Irish Independence Movement. I never meant to offend you.
Rome having 1000 development isn't that far away from reality considering it became the first city on Earth with over million people, somewhere around 133 BCE.
Heretic. Roman empire exists in 1444, it is called Byzantium.
As if I don’t know that 😂
