Are these units self learning/self adjusting to optimise the fuelling to within the correct stoichiometric levels?

They are self adjusting and are designed to optimise the air fuel ratio to around 13.2:1 across the map. Although the theoretical ideal air fuel ratio is 14.7:1 - outside of perfectly ideal conditions, this is too lean so the modules aim for around 13.2-13.4:1.
