I didn't realize how adorable the bond between two birds would be but it is so cute how different their behaviors are separate vs together, they clearly are super close and I think that's amazing.

I love how animals have a true sense of fairness. So cute how they pay such close attention to distribution of treats.
At the animal shelter I work at, we had a bonded pair of a Quaker Parrot and a Goffins Cockatoo surrendered awhile ago. We kept them at our shelter for a little over half a year (The cockatoo had been self mutilating due to stress so we wanted to get them back to baseline before adopting them out) and the parrot was sooo much more attached to her than she was to him. Whenever we'd take him out of their room (or vice versa) he'd shriek until he could see her. I always thought it was a grumpy chirp that he couldn't see his girlfriend, but knowing the real reason behind it is really neat. The cockatoo started getting very bitey whenever we handled her, so we figured it was time to find their forever home, and she's doing much better with a proper home and more attention.

He hated me, so I gave him to my grandma. They get along perfectly.

We had two Jenday conures (brother & sister) and they were so wonderful and they lived with us for over 25 years! We miss them so much since they’ve passed over the rainbow bridge! It was nice finding your channel and meeting Ecuador!

It's just funny to me how these birds are so comfortable being on Jesse's hand while she's gesturing so much with them. But I guess tree branches blowing in the wind would move a lot, so.
I have a jenday conure too, mango. I found him in a store, and noticed he seemed really aggressive and every other bird stayed away from him. I immediately knew that he was the one I wanted to partner up with. So I brought him home. It took a year, but I finally bonded with him. This is why I was soooooo afraid of introducing him to my smaller Green Cheek conure. They bicker and fought for a while, but for the first time, Mango learned to get comfy with another bird. Made me the proudest bird dad ever. Now, those two are inseparable. Hell, even rn those two are grooming each other. Love em to death.

@@melig8888 congratulations! Budgies are extremely sociable animals, so make sure to either take him most places you go, spend time with him, or buy him a friend. Most often lonely budgies pluck feathers.

I just rescued a 12 yr old Jenday " Jenny" and a 5 yr old Sun conure " Sunni" I have a sun thats 18 mos also. I got him at 3 wks and handfed him. His name is Sunni as well lol. It gets loud at times but it doesnt bother me .i also have a macaw and 2 goffins cockatoos so im used to their loud voices. This video was great. Thank you. ❤️😀

In my family, we had two cats growing up. If one was learning or doing a trick, the other always had to have one too, of course! So, we call those, "One for breathing!" treats :)

my Jenday, Kellan, is mega loud at all times lol. he's a one person bird, and will attack anyone that isn't me. but with me he's a complete sweetheart 💜

Funny when you said he takes a bath in his water bowl. Haha our sun/jenday(Not sure which kind he is) will always take a bath in his water...but only after we freshly changed it.

The shoulder thing is weird to me. My Sun Conures' favorite place is people's shoulders. Whenever people come over, whoever is the tallest he just flies to them and sits. He loves people and is the sweetest. When he is not eating his favorite spot is on my shoulder. When he gets nippy I put him on his perch. But he will sit on my shoulder nuzzle under my beard. get neck scratches and now has started to lift his wing for scatches under it. He is happy and now we got a Quaker who he has bonded to. Since the Quacker is still a baby. Like literally just got off baby food a couple weeks. he is not out of his cage as often our Sun Conure hangs out on the Quackers cage. He spends a lot less time on my shoulder. miss it a little bit. But they are both happy.

I'm so glad it's not a sad story this time! It reminds me of my Roxy (Labrador) she was old and her owners life had just gotten really busy in the last 6 months, and Roxy was getting fat and lazy, so she (owner) gave her to us so that Roxy could have a better life (even though she'd had her since she was a puppy )

ooh now I understand why my lovebirds sometimes start " yelling" when they can't see me. they are just calling out for me.
I rehabilitated a wild bird and ever since then I've been aching for another bird. This will be my first non-wild bird.

Our budgie does the contact calls thing.. Once we holler where we are in the townhouse she quiets. It is hilarious..she just wants to know where we are.

I’m very glad to hear Ecuador had a good backstory, which may seem weird but he wasn’t abused nor get ridden of for loudness or messiness
when i bought my green cheek conure i felt bad because i started to get the sense he was lonely or needed a friend so i bought a sun conure and now those two are inseparable.

Oh my god...that bird used to me our bird..we got him from petsmart but he didnt lile any of us so we took him back..but his name used ot be berny i can tell its him cuse his squawk and the colors and his personality try to give him a peanut..HE LOVEESSSS PEANUTS

My budgies bonded to each other so my conure Loki bonded to me. He will do contact calls when he can't see me....my neighbours must love that....
edit: Also I taught my conure (loki) to wave hello, high-five and shake hands to show off his feet. I'll have to teach him the "play dead" as well.

My Quaker parrot is attached to his cage, and he bites me whenever I try to give him head rubs so while he’s biting I pet his head, but sometimes it really hurts so I move away and go to pet him again, also whenever I get him out of his cage and open the top part, he perches on it and and just sits there and when I go to feed him now (syringe) he doesn’t want it although he didn’t eat in the morning and afternoon, and whenever I put my hand behind his back with him seeing he’ll turn his head and bite my fingers, but whenever I give him treats he just eats them and when I got him he knew how to step up, and also when I take him outside of his cage, either it’s inside the house or just sitting outside, he tries to go back to the cage, like inside my house when I put him on the floor he just runs around exploring and his main direction is the back door to the backyard... I need help
I have the same type of bird as lulu and I am trying to make my bird to go on my finger but it bites hard and I get so scared
