The relationship between Merida and her mom is something so many girls can relate to. While the plot of this movie is a little flawed and weak at certain moments, this story was very original and empowering. However, it makes me angry how criminally underrated this soundtrack is. It's absolutely phenomenal!
Honestly the only flawed part of the story for me was the whole bear plot. If yoh cut that out and focus on merida and Eleanor's relationship then the movie would be even better
??? But the bear plot was essential to the whole story. It was there to help Merida and Elinor see eye to eye and finally start to understand each other. And that she realized she was wrong about her mom and that she would do anything to help her. The bear plot was awesome.
+HogwartsTimeLord NOOOOO!!! :'( I've just finished writing a looong comment, including what i think about this movie and about suggesting how to train your dragon and it's soundtracks... are you interested in it at all, or you'd just ignore it? :D
+HogwartsTimeLord Glad to hear:) So,in my opinion (i'll try to be short) first, it's a more Pixar movie than Disney. This i think based on Pixar's topics in almost all their movies, as this also touches an extremely essential and wonderful thing, love towards a mother and all the other tiny lessons which are hidden. Secondly, this is just outstandig among almost all the 'Disney Princes ' movies, as Merida doesn't desperately seek for love in a perfect guy who solves all her problems (luckily Frozen is similar from this aspect), but she's looking for herself, in herself, in the nature and family. This is just great not to see the 'prototype' princess in all movies. And what i think an answer could be for your question is partly what i mentioned about princess thingies and partly that it's not an idealized story with idealized characters and their appearance. And partly that it's not really a Disney kind of movie. One more thing. I'd like to recommend you How To Train Your Dragon (both the first and the second part) as i could see many similarities between these 2 outstandingly lovable, fascinating etc. movies. If you haven't seen it so far, you definitely should!:) and if you have already seen it, but didn't find it good enough, just watch it again:D and pay attention to all the hidden beauties in it. And don't forget the soundtrack... John Powell did just an amazing work with composing all those soundtracks. I'd like to point out some which are the most lovable ones: Forbidden friendship, Beyond the clouds, Stoick's ship, Flying with mother, Test drive, Where no one goes, For the dancing and dreaming. These are really really great! Can't get ored with them... Oh and pay attention to the development of all the relationships in that movie. Srry for making this so long, i really felt like writing it... I hope we're on the same opinion:) P.s.: please do not hate on christians and try to see them from an other asepct, and please make a difference between different 'types' of christians... Some really are hard to like or understand but there are many precious and nice people, even not weird ones;) Nice day for you!:)

The ending of this movie reminds me my dear mother. She passed away 15 years ago when I was fifteen, and seeing Merida’s mom becoming her mother again and giving her hugs and kisses just makes me imagine that maybe this is going to be my mother and I when we see each other again. She’ll kiss me and hug me. And this ending song will play for us ❤

+Rebecca Shermer That's what Scottish people are 'bout, Merida is more of an independent princess. She's more of a Tomboy character, She's more sad about loseing her Mother to a curse. I'm half scottish (My Relatives say) and this hits me SO Hard, And to speak about something like scottish ruin's. Unbelivable.
Merida, Jasmine, and Ariel are simply the best princesses of the modern era, nothing against the older ones like Snow White and Cinderella. But the other 3 just blow them away.
Sebastian Broberg I know, I discovered that the information I had was completely wrong only last week. My History teacher in school has, apparently, lost his job due to giving dodgy information. It is the 17th Century, and I was wrong.
Honestly I thought Mumford and sons did an amazing job with this song, but I feel like she brought a different amazing aspect of the song which I really loved
I am a huge fan of Mumford and Sons, and i watched Brave for the first time yesterday, and when I head the first word of this song, I was like "wutwutwut"
Quite a lot better than the version on Babel, but by virtue of being so good, it makes me appreciate the acoustic quality of the original. IN all, this is likely the best that M&S has done (though, their rendition of The Boxer is parallel)
I've always loved this movie the music is amazing and out standing this one is my favorite I love this for 3 reasons the one I just said and I love that it shows women don't need a man and lastly i love how they put the meaning in here not only for the fact women don't need a man I will not tell the meaning cuz I want people to find out themselves
Even though it was cool ending the movie with this song, I strongly feel that it should've been the song when Merida was teaching her mother how to fish.
The relationship between Merida and her mom is something so many girls can relate to. I love the original of this song but this version blows it to bits - would love Apple to release it in iTunes :-/
It's by Birdy and Mumford & Sons, and I feel the spirits right away. Underrated song, why?
Merida's my fav Disney princess and thou shall nay convincith me otherwise!
Beautiful song I love Merida.
Birdy - All You Have To Do Is Learn Me Right (From The Kingdom's Three Brave Women) (Official Music Video)

Brave is the closest disney movie to my heart next to tangled.
Wonderful movie.
Love this song. 👍
I love this soundtrack
I am a huge fan of Mumford and Sons, and i watched Brave for the first time yesterday, and when I head the first word of this song, I was like "wutwutwut"
Great music
Quite a lot better than the version on Babel, but by virtue of being so good, it makes me appreciate the acoustic quality of the original.
IN all, this is likely the best that M&S has done (though, their rendition of The Boxer is parallel)
That moment when you realized that they slightly edited this movie -flips all tables- this was a great movie
My favourite Disney movie 😍

I like that song ❤️
Such a unrated Disney film .
Love this song ♥️♥️
Best movie ever
I've always loved this movie the music is amazing and out standing this one is my favorite I love this for 3 reasons the one I just said and I love that it shows women don't need a man and lastly i love how they put the meaning in here not only for the fact women don't need a man I will not tell the meaning cuz I want people to find out themselves
Even though it was cool ending the movie with this song, I strongly feel that it should've been the song when Merida was teaching her mother how to fish.
