This ain’t Mercedes’ first SUV. Indeed, the Mercedes GLE that you see here is just the latest in a long line of luxury SUVs from the German brand. The M Class first went on sale back in 1998, being renamed GLE in 2015.
Chic interior, seven seats, and an impressive line up of petrol and diesel engines, plus a plug-in hybrid option for those who want to go green
In 2020, Mercedes introduced the GLE 350 DE plug-in hybrid. This time Mercedes has combined a diesel engine with the electric motor. Together the system produces 316bhp, which is enough for a 0-62mph (ca. 100 km/h) time of 6.8 seconds. The 23.4 kWh battery allows an impressive electric range of 66 miles (ca. 106 km), and recharging takes three-and-a-quarter hours from a 7.2kW wall box.

i think ur wrong GLE 350de is 2.0 Diesel and not 3.0 combined with electric engine it's gives 320HP
I like the diesel-electric hybrid engine. If only this was available here in the USA. I'd like to breathe clean (un-polluted) air as much as anyone living, but sometimes I think our Environmental *"Protection"* Agency (EPA) is totally unreasonable for completely banning the petrol and diesel engine.

Would you buy this instead of the diesel version?
I have one and in terms of e-range it’s big disappointment. The 100 km e
range is b.s. Fully reset and fully charged I get 75 Km. No more no less. Mercedes says it’s normal , they sold me the car with a e-range 91-100 Km!
I am not talking about driving conditions, of course range can be different, but if from start on it’s only 75 km figure out whomps kidding whom ! Never again. They perhaps don’t sell the hybrid in U.S. because can’t afford lawsuit which will surely come!

Isnt the battery size 30kWh? Is this vary depend on the country? If i am not mistaken, X5 45e is 24kWh and GLE has a bigger battery spec.

Hey, hab mal 2 Fragen, 1. hat das Auto auch noch die Power von 320 PS und 700 Nm (Systemleistung), auch wenn der Akku leer ist? Und 2. was passiert mit den Fondpassagieren, wenn mir einer hinten reinfährt, der große Akku ist ja im Kofferaumboden und somit direkt hinter den Fondpassagieren??? Hey, zu deiner ersten Frage kann ich sagen ja, die Leistung bleibt erhalten für bspw. Überholmanöver, also den kurzfristigen Abruf der Leistung. Der Akku hat einen "Reserve" Bereich, der dem Schutz des Akkus vor Tiefentladung dient. Aus diesem kann in solchen Fällen geschöpft werden, da sich der Akku über rekuperation auch wieder Energie zurückholt.
Zum Thema Unfall muss man sich im klaren sein, dass das (Rest-)Risiko eines Batteriebrandes im Falle eines Unfalls immer vorhanden ist. Der Akku ist jedoch gut geschützt, sodass er bei einem normalen Auffahrunfall intakt bleibt. Sollte der Unfall so schwer sein, dass auch der Akku beschädigt wird, ist das wahrscheinlich das geringste Problem der Insassen.
@@MrRagman93 mir gehts auch darum, ob der Akku nicht gegen die Fondpassagiere geschoben wird und somit schwerwiegende Verletzungen nach sich zieht?! 🙂👌
@@braluk38 Nein, der Akku sitzt auch primär im Kofferraumboden, möglichst tief wegen des Schwerpunktes. Das Akkupaket ist nicht in der Lage die Karosserie unter der Sitzbank zu durchschlagen. Die Insassen sind sehr gut geschützt.
Von der nicht Hybrid Version gibt es hier auf YT Crashtest Videos, da siehst du wie stabil schon die normale GLE Karosse konstruiert ist.
