- It's always a good video when there's rope chains involved. To date my most popular chains. With the recent launch of 18kt rope chains, I wanted to take the time and show you guys the difference between 14kt ropes and 18kt rope chains. In my opinion, either is a great buy and will make a good addition to any jewelry collection.

Gold is soft, so purer gold makes it softer. It’ll scratch easier. I prefer 14k.

no one makes 24K gold chains because they are too soft and break easily. 18k gold is usually the highest you can buy for jewelry.

For everyday I highly recommend 14k to anyone that is looking to invest in their first piece. Anything greater than 14k tends to scratch super easy and the closer to the purity the more fragile the gold is.
I Only recommend 18kt because it's 75% Gold unlike *half and half. As for scratching, Nice wide Cubans are really the only style that's going to easily show scratches. I personally wouldn't worry about the malleability of the piece because I'm not going to play football with anything on lol.
18kt does not scratch "super easier" then 14kt... how many 18kt have you owned?
Starter piece or not, 18k should be the bare minimum. 18k is plenty strong and beautiful!. No it doesn’t scratch easy. Never understood this starter chain talk. Just get what you want from the beginning even if you have to save a little longer.
I dunno I’ve only ever had 22k. And it would be frowned upon to have less. I would have to lie if the nosey aunts asked, because they would slag off my parents or husband 😂
It used to be very common to have 24k. But I guess they realised it can bend easily . Still in India Bangladesh and Pakistan some elders still enjoy 24k jewellery.
I have got into threadless body jewellery. Because they’re so tiny , easily lost I think 14k would be fine and probably sensible. But I really struggled to buy it lol. I have an 18k piece but for the size and weight of the piece not sure it’s worth the cost . Looks pretty though. I have a dainty 14k piece on the way 3mmx 6mm . I hope it doesn’t look like that trashy gold catalogue shops sell in the UK . I won’t be happy . It’s still expensive due to the so called High end designers . But again in terms of weight and size it doesn’t justify the cost. £130! In comparison a 2.5mm real ruby screwed stud 22k £60 over here

Either or. Those chains are way over valued. I rather buy .99999% gold gram bars, or 1oz gold coin. I bought 14k gold 22in yellow gold chain, way before I found precious metals coins. The silver chains are way, way, way, over valued. Especially in store buy. Not worth buying unless you want to be flashy. Waste money on over valued shit chains. If they lowered the price to its real value than its a buy. Besides that. Coins are a better bang for your fiat trade.
You can't wear your gold bullion. Gold jewelry holds its value but most people aren't buying jewelry for an investment. There is more time put into manufacturing jewelry. If you are looking to strictly invest then buy coins or bars.
