LOVE HIS DRUMMER AND SAX MEN. understand from the book Blue Monday Fats was really hard on drummers, because of his piano style he could only really find 3 who could keep up with him, and sadly a lot of his sax players were addicts who used to pawn their instruments for dope money, and if they didn't get paid on time to score they would borrow someone elses horns to be able to play their shows

My dad was a deep sailor from Ireland and sailed to the USA back in the day and he was a big Fats fan. I saw him in Dublin, Ireland twice during the 1980's and he was amazing. The last time I went to see him was at Wembley Arena, London when he was performing with Chuck Berry and Little Richard. Fats didn't make that gig as he fell ill the previous night, but Little Richard extended his set and included several Fats songs. Chuck Berry was AMAZING...

true GREAT BAND especially the sax men but sadly from a doc i just read most of his band were hooked on one drug or another and a lot of them died because of it
@@jennifursun3303 TBH... it is quite probable that the majority of artists through the 1900's and even in the 21st century are all alcohol and drug users.... whether it's prescription, marijuana or class A... wine, beer or spirits... but there are very few in this era that come close to the greats of the 1900's

Many people think that Fats Domino’s Band was his, as a native of New Orleans I can’t tell you this is very much incorrect!!!
Dave Bartholomew was always the Band Leader even over Fats Domino, Fats played and followed just as the rest of the members did!!!
Although, Fats was the Figurehead of the Band, Fats Domino was only the Lead Singer and Piano Player!!!
At many of the Fats Domino Shows were performances just like this one where Dave Bartholomew started the show himself and performed equally as did everyone else.
Also as stated by Fats in this show Dave Bartholomew wrote many of Fats’s songs and did the arrangements as well!!!

Anyone know if Austin City Limits sells this either on a CD or a digital download? I used to listen to this all the time and it got removed, i'm afraid it will get removed again....

To show how stupid the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is, they inducted Dave Bartholomew in the "non-performer" category. Look at him not performing here. He was over the top ham and cheese extrovert on stage and the HOF only wants to recognize him for what he did behind the scenes. Shameful...
