    This advice is so helpful. Can you please show us how the bark looks now? Did the branch survive? How often did you have to keep treating it?

      The branch is doing great. Here’s a follow up video

      @@healthyhorticulture Can you please check this new link? I get a repeat of the original video and no recent pics of the healed branch. Thanks.

    Thanks for this video, very helpful. Had similar issue with deer on my magnolia tree. They got all the bark on one half from about the 2 foot mark up almost 2 feet. Followed what you did, fingers are crossed. Should I consider any kind of a wrap? Not sure how to add a photo here.

    can this method work with a young green giant with bark scraped off?

    • @healthyhorticulture
      @healthyhorticulture  9 месяцев назад

      Yes as long as the bark isn’t removed all the way around the tree. I’m assuming you mean green giant arborvitae. They are usually pretty good at healing themselves but a treatment such as this will certainly help them along.

      I have a mimosa tree attacked with shredding the outside bark all around.
      I will take the silver duct tape off I first used.I haven't seen the critter. I think it is a squirrel.
      I will get peroxide to spray on it.
      I put cayenne and sprayed around to chase off the critter.
      I have some metal cage screen to wrap around the tree.
      Need help please.

    Do ya have a good way to get rid of that black shit that destroys the plum trees I cut it back once now its back again

      That’s called black knot. Prune out infected limbs during the dormant season then spray with daconil, starting as soon as you get flower buds, maybe 3 applications at 12-14 day intervals. Also keep in mind that the native cherry trees are very prone to this disease and can be a source for future infection so if you live in a wooded area keep a look out for these infected trees and remove them if you can.
