I *do* think that letting his child down did a lot to foster the self-loathing that ultimately festered and turned him bad enough to go there. He didn't think any later misdeeds he went on to commit mattered, because he figured he'd already proven himself irredeemable: the same flawed reasoning that keeps most of the *other* relatable sinners in Hell.

What's even sadder is that there are children in hell. Earthborn demons who died as children. This is another serious red flag in the system. Children are too young for something like this, no matter what they do.
I have a theory that when a soul enters Heaven, if it’s before they turn to an adult, they stay a child until both their parents are in Heaven with them. If one of them dies, however, they stay a child perpetually.

This is.. powerful to say the least and you know, sir pentious as well as he's one of my favorite characters, is a sweet person underneath everything he did before. Everyone makes mistakes, everyone fucks up now and again, but second chances can always be given. In his case, it was. and pentious, I am proud of you for admitting to this, and i am especially proud of you for what you did at the hotel. Godspeed, soldier.

The beast passed through many years, many centuries... Many Ages... Nothing could stop it.
