  • Here is a hockey skills competition with Vintage Hockey Gear from the 1930's. We had skates, gloves, shin guards, pants, elbow pads, a helmet and hockey sticks from the 1930's.

    Try getting in net with vintage gear vs. modern players. That's how played for my inner-city public school team in the late 80's!

      @@michaeljoseph8674 I met a guy who willingly did a practice in 1950's goalie gear (they wouldn't let him play an actual game.) His exact words were, "That shit's scary man, those guys were crazy."

    Oh wow.
    I did stick and puck in figure skates a few times, but I remember seeing super old hockey skates like the ones you guys tried at my old rink. I wish I had the chance now. I didn’t realise how old they might have been!

    The skates look to be newer than 1930s. I want those gloves and helmet. The oldest gear is my collection is 1960s.

    Most hockey players before 1973 had never worn a helmet. The gloves used to be made to last, unlike today.

    Looks like the old stuff was in great shape. Other channels that have tried this usually use stuff that is disintegrating.

    The stick they used is from the 1960s or 70s. It's got a right hand curve, which made the bald one at a disadvantage because he was a left handed shot. Gilbert Perreault used Victoriaville sticks when he broke into the NHL.

    Too bad the goalie didn't have old gear. I got a set of D&R LG 40 pads and Cooper GM12 glove and blocker from the 70s I wear at retro games. Still need an old school form fitted mask but do rock the SK2000 with that set up.

    simonak ça me rappel de vieux souvenir ces équipements la , les pads , culottes, et gants , sont les mêmes que ma première équipement ,un hockey Victoriaville mais pas le pro mon casque était celui à trois palettes comme Bobby Hull et les coudes était en feutre noir avec la protection en plastique rouge , mais le clou était les patins que mon père m'avait acheté chez Canadian Tire en simili cuir pour pas dire en cartons , disons que dans les années 60 c'était presque moderne 😂😂

    Men were men back then. They went just as hard with this gear as they go today. Imagine today's NHLers having to use gear like this. Most of them wouldn't play.
