Good to see another video Adam, I thought you might have given up🙂
Not entirely! Thanks
Sorry about the over exposed video (and annoying audio). Still learning this video malarkey!
Oh, don't worry about that. At all! 😊
Looks fine to me.
Great to see you back and producing again.
Thanks👍👌
It's great to see another video from you, Adam! 😊
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thank you. You too.
Hi, I agree with an eariler comment nice to see your back. I also have an after market charge controller for my electric car, another unit, but here the point.,, the current adjustment must be done just after being powered up. Might be the same situation .
Great to see you are back.
I've got one of those, the button was enabled from the factory. Just watch out, mine remembers the last setting, but will randomly choose 13A sometimes when you plug it in.
Plug gets a bit hot when charging at 13A for 8 hours, but nothing melts. Not great, not terrible.
Useful info that. Thanks very much.
Nice review video
Hello my friend good work... i just watched all your videos and i wanted to comment on the diy 7s bms that took a lot of work and time and i thought you could find good brand 7s bms for very cheap like those used in thise dyson 25v portable aspirators i have a lot of those they offer protection in every way for cells and they are designed for high power .... what s your opinion on that... keep the good work... sorry for my english i m from morocco
What do the other switches?
Your like me don’t push the button. :) you mean this one oops I already pressed it
Can you please explain what's the point of adjusting the current?
Isn't charging faster better?
Lowering the current puts less stress on the battery, causes less heat and therefore is better for the battery and should result in retaining its capacity for longer. However the difference between 6 amps and ten amps probably does make a lot of difference for the battery itself. For me, I want to charge at a lower current when my supply is limited.
I’ve got a similar Chinese EVSE which defaults to 14 amp charging and I can’t figure out how to change it. With US residential outlets and circuits rated at 15 amps, anything else on the circuit will trip the breaker. So 14 amps is fast, but tripping the breaker at granny’s house isn’t desirable and I’d like to adjust it to a lower current.
Did you play about with the other dip switches to see what they all did and just omitted them from the video?
Nope. Quit whilst I was ahead. :) One day I might take another look.
@@AdamWelchUK oh fair enough. Thought maybe they didn't do anything interesting so you didn't include them.
OLED display? Do you know that they have wearing when keeping the same pixels ON ?
In one year the wearing can be huge!
Yeah. I've seen the effect myself on the open source stream deck I put together. It was noticeable after a year, but not terrible.
@@AdamWelchUK there is a video with 360+ days long, very nice wearing test made. If you are interested I could find it.
Glad to see your still doing the odd video dude.
At 00:08 it's called a granny charger because one end has a 13A fuse and the other one is a type 1?
Can you please explain what the "because" explicits in this sentence? Thanks.
Probably misspoke to be honest. They are called a granny charger because they are slow - because you can only plug them in via a normal plug they don't allow your vehicle to pull much current.
When you go you granny's house and they don't have a proper charger, you plug this into a normal socket
Their user manual tells all about it
No instructions come with the EVSE?
Long time no videos😔
Where have you been hiding?
Given up on RUclips?
