Good video, thank you. I have had a Link S out in the field 500 miles away from me for 18+ months. I just got a Link S Dark to put near the same location. These cameras can definitely be finicky to setup the first time, but my Link S has been flawless and totally unattended during that time. Have not even changed batteries yet (Energizer lithium still running at 83%). Hoping for the same reliability from the Link S Dark. I did skip the firmware update on the new Dark unit as it was running Rev 10 of the current firmware per the Spypoint website. I got the camera directly from Spypoint, so not sure if that is why it was up-to-date? I did have to update my Link S when I got it (from eBay)

Should you install firmware update before setting camera up? Thank you

I always recommend checking to make sure your firmware is up to date and your camera is working before deploying in the field.

If it is more complex then the link micro I can promise it will be as unreliable if not more unreliable.

The link micro is amazing as its a no options just turn it on and go when putting it in the field. The Link S Dark has multiple settings, images or video or combination sort of thing. You can adjust quality and everything on the camera itself. That's the more complex part I was referring to mostly. Thanks so much for dropping a comment.
