I got a cheap ugly Jeep for the mountian we ride. No need 😮n spending a ton on a nice one to drag over rocks. However I got 4 grand in mine. Wasn’t quite as lucky
In my opinion a stock jeep is way more fun to wheel than a modded one! I have both myself and I still turn to my stock tj for some fun stuff! I like that in a stock vehicle you have to actually drive the Jeep. Where as in todays jeeps anyone can flip a switch or push a button and get out on the trail. However you put them in a stock Jeep even a newer one and they won’t know what to do. Whenever anyone asks me what Jeep do I recommend I tell them get a cheap affordable one that runs and drive it for awhile to get used to it. Once your familiar with it then you wheel it see what it can do, then start with your mods. That’s how I did all my jeeps!
I couldn’t agree anymore. We have fun running our big Jeep. But there is something more special about taking a step back to where it all started for us and go wheel one of the stock/daily driver Jeeps. I also agree that people need to/should start with a stock Jeep and build it up where they see fit. A good driver behind the wheel with a stock Jeep can outperform the person in a completely built Jeep everyday. Thanks for watching.
Never been to Suthington Offroad Park, but I took my stock 1997 TJ, with 31x10.5 tires, on the Rubicon. Took my time and picked the right lines. Such great memories.
I’m sure the rubicon is 1000 times better then Southington. One day I’ll make it out to the rubicon. We been talking about buying a newer Jeep out by Tahoe and running the rubicon the next day then drive it back home
It always makes for a fun day when you are running a trail and a stocker comes along, and the driver is not afraid to get it up to ramming speed and bang their way through obstacles. Much like what you were doing. 😁 As you found out, taking a stock Jeep on a trail really tests your driving skills. Especially when the gearing really sucks. It also kind of humbles the bad ass rigs. But what fun!!!
Dallas, it was so much fun. I think I was smiling and laughing The whole time. That local park is really easy and we have Been going there for 10+ years so I don’t feel like I’m holding my friends up when I get stuck on the smallest rocks. It’s a really good way to go back to where it all started and how important line choice can be with a smaller Jeep. Definitely a good way to improve my very limited amount of driving skills that I have. 🤣. As always thanks for watching!
Funny how the stock vehicles become the Star of the Show when they are brought out on a trail. Once I get mine all caught up on maintenance and rot repair, I am excited to take it on a trail and see how it compares to my modded 4 Runner
Ohio grown here. I thought Southington was nothing but mud and construction trash to krawl over. Thanks for showing me that they do have some nice trails.
Last year I did Holly Cross, Chinaman Gulch and few others in a stock suspension TJ on 31’s. Body armor, LSD, body lift & winch. Was great to see it did it, but it was work! Going back with tummy tuck, oil pan skid, coil spacers and some JL takeoffs this year.
Definitely some good trails you just named. We ran all those last year in our big JK tons of fun. But that would be lots of work in a smaller tire TJ. So props to you for doing that. And sounds like you will be a bit better off this next time around. Be safe and have fun.
To be fair, a stock TJ is more capable than a stock JK or JL. A lot of people will deny it but on the trails it’s been proven time and time again. The TJ was the best platform they made..
I’d argue Brake Lock Differential, which the TJ doesn’t have, would have made a significant difference on a few of those obstacles. JK would have faired a bit better perhaps.
I broke a dana 35 on 31s...might consider an 8.8 rear axle. Those TJs are so much fun. I've been building mine for about 5 years now. My channel has a lot of TJ content if ya are ever bored and looking for a good show to kill time hahaha.
I’ll definitely check those out. We are planning on building this one this winter. But the other TJ that we daily we want to put sport JK axles under it and 33/35s tires and just have tons of fun in it. I definitely have no trust in those d35s.
We are heading up for the first time on Saturday. I'm super pumped to check out the trails! We have a stock Jeep coming with us too, though it's a JL not a TJ. I'm guessing being a first off-road trip for them they will take a fair share of bypasses. Fun video, will done!
Good questions. So the bolts backed out on the upper shock mount causing the shock to fall. And we just don’t have a spare for that. If we would drive it on the road more or Offroad it more we would get one, but for now it’s ok.
Hey Ohio I have a 2007 jeep wrangler Rubicon I was wondering if you would know what I need to do to run 35s and if there is any shops u know of in Ohio I can go to
Are there trails full sized friendly I have a 78 ford I’m putting together I want it to be the best on and off road truck I can, and no trails near me in pa are full size friendly
Yes! We are actually gonna build this one up for a second big Jeep. But we do have another TJ that we are planning on doing exactly what you just suggested. That way we can have fun at our local park.
I think all the newbie pavement princesses forget to realize where the jeeps came from… long ago…. Bare bones stock … military style and they went through extreme amounts of hell and back… without spending 60 grand on stuff to make it look neat…. I totally respect the plain old jeeps as they are absolutely capable of many things
So depending on which one your asking about. The Red stock Jeep, we just don’t have a spare tire. The bigger Jeeps it’s because it’s a lot of weight to have a 42” tire hanging off the back of the Jeep. Therefore the Jeep performs much better without the spare hanging off the back.
I wish there were more stock Jeep videos. I’m always impressed with their performance.
I agree. We want to keep the one somewhat stock for a daily and to go play with it every now and then.
@@Ohio_offroad_adventures I keep mine mostly stock because I’m poor.
Literally came to yt to find a video of how capable a stock TJ is offroad. This was suggested at the top. Bravo sir
That’s awesome! They are way more capable then most people realize.
Where in the hell did you buy a jeep for $1500!?
Good ole rusty NE Ohio.
I was thinking the same thing.
I got a cheap ugly Jeep for the mountian we ride. No need 😮n spending a ton on a nice one to drag over rocks. However I got 4 grand in mine. Wasn’t quite as lucky
Yeah I would probably buy a Wrangler for $1,500 today if one exists lol.
I got a GREAT deal on my Cherokee Trailhawk for $24000 lol. Seriously.
$1500 - not true

My 87 stock Samurai and I concur. Lots of fun to be had bouncing down the trail.

Frame didn't look all that bad little bit that i saw. $1500 for a jeep that you could take out like that pretty much can't be beat!
Right frame is good. We ended up picking on up in Georgia for about 400$ and swap it over to the red Jeep.
Mahoning County plates! That’s my home as well. Great videos.
Thanks for watching. We are proud natives of Austintown.
Ohio grown here. I thought Southington was nothing but mud and construction trash to krawl over. Thanks for showing me that they do have some nice trails.
Still kinda like that way. They really only have that one good trail but we only live 30mins from it so we always go for a day out of the house.
Back in the day, i could take my 1969 vw bug convertible where a 1970 Chevelle SS couldn't go.
I'll take the lil red jeep anyday.

I bought a stock 1943 GPW in 1986 for $1500. Great price!
You Guys are Awesome, new Sub!
Thank you so much!
Totally worth it to throw a lunch box locker on the back. You could probably get one for the front too on that Jeep - anything you want.
I completely agree. If we put in a locker in that little thing it will be a lot more fun.
That’s a nice stock Jeep, bad azzzzzzz ,love it
Thank you!
You're welcome, keep up the good work
This was amazing
Thanks man.

Have a fun time out there. We always have a blast playing around there.
I bought my 1997 2.5 automatic TJ for $3,300. No rust but a small spot on the fender, couple dents in the hood. No frame rot or rust..
That’s a pretty good deal then!
I have 2 questions. How did ur rear shock come off on that TJ? And why no spare tire?
Good questions. So the bolts backed out on the upper shock mount causing the shock to fall. And we just don’t have a spare for that. If we would drive it on the road more or Offroad it more we would get one, but for now it’s ok.

Yes this place is very full size friendly. Some trails are tighter then others but can definitely get full sized through most.
@@Ohio_offroad_adventures may have to try my hand at trail, I’m used to mud not rocks
@@bobhilly546312156332 it’s a good trail. They also have a lot of mud you can play in too.

awesome
Thanks man. That was a fun day!
Depends if driver is willing to send it!!
So true!!
Thanks for breaking & damaging your TJ. So I know what not to dowith mine. Lol.
Any time!
It was green power ranger
i m a french onroad jeeper and i m scary to go offroad like u coz..you break you pay..i m tired to pay all the time))
That’s absolutely fair. We just love off-roading where paying for some breaks are worth it to us.
I missed my YJ
I never made it out to that park this year. It's about 3 hours away for me. It's on my list for next year though!
Just let us know. We can probably show u around if we are home that weekend. It’s an OK park. Nothing special.
@@Ohio_offroad_adventures that would be great! We have a local park called Bundy hill. I'd describe it the same way. Lol
@@samsanderson7159 ahhh yes I’ve heard of that one.
@@Ohio_offroad_adventures it's a fun place. A little over 300 acres. A lot of mud though. And when it dries, it's like concrete.
@@samsanderson7159 one day I’ll make it up that way.
Get rid of the belly shovel with a flat belly, maybe go to 35’s. With a set of lockers and a little body armor and wheel the shit out of it
Yes! We are actually gonna build this one up for a second big Jeep. But we do have another TJ that we are planning on doing exactly what you just suggested. That way we can have fun at our local park.
5000 years of droop 😂
I think id be doing all the bypasses. My truck about as capable as the red jeep but im not trying to put those body wounds on a 60k truck
If you have some good rock sliders you will be fine out there. But I definitely understand not wanting to beat up a 60k jeep.
I’m behind you in a traffic jam rn in Tennessee
Lol. That’s great! Heading back home from windrock.
Hi! Are you interested in testing new LED tail lights?
Hi thanks for reaching out. But I’m not interested at this time.

$1500 TJ??? Where?
Good ole NE Ohio where the cars are rusted apart. 😂
@@Ohio_offroad_adventures Oh i see lol i paid almost 10k for mine but with zero rust and low miles 😍

$1500 Jeep?!
Right it was and still is in pretty bad shape when we bought it. But we did have to do a few things too it. So we are probably $2100 in it now.
Is that red JEEP stolen??
No. Why?
Til it cant
So true!
$1500? Ok I'll buy your rig for $3k, that'd be a screaming deal. You can film me rolling
it into a river. I'll harvest the leftover parts & profit.
Maybe once I first bought it I would have definitely sold it for 3k. But now it has a lot more work done to it. Hahaha
That is not stock jeep
at least weld a cheap front bumper and slap a badlands on it geez
Lol. I might just do that!
The stock TJ isn't for that type of offroad yall😅😅😅
it did okay though. 😂
Straight 6 4.0 TJ for $1500? Haha yea ok guy. Put the meth pipe down
It had a rotted out frame.
