Meh, Selena's mom wasn't that, "supportive" overall. She allowed Abraham to rule over their family with an iron fist and for him to treat their kids like a dictator. She also allowed the family to stay involved with the CULT of being a Jehovah's Witness. She also allowed Abraham to live out his dreams of being a famous musician, but forcing his children to become a band from very young ages. In many ways, Abraham Quintanilla is a LOT like Joe Jackson, aka Michael Jackson's father. Selena's mom also publicly stood by Abraham when he forced Chris Perez, Selena's husband, to sign documents promising that he'd give up his rights to make anything about Selena or tell his side of the story. Selena was considered the "favorite" of her siblings and Selena's mom enabled this. I mean, what does it say about how controlling and verbally abusive, that Selena literally fled away from the family to get married in secret w/Chris, because Selena & Chris knew that the only way they'd be able to be together, is by escaping from that abusive family dynamic??
Awwww that was really cute how that little boy came on stage to dance with Selena. I know for a fact that I would be too scared to make a move like that, and when the other kids joined her on stage that was the cutest and sweetest thing ever. I love all of the young Selena scenes and then when they transferred her from a little girl to a grown Selena that was cool too. I wonder if Jennifer Lopez wore a wig for one of her hair styles, she for sure dyed her hair black but she couldn't have short hair and then grow it out within the time of shooting the movie, because they show her with both short and long hair.
That double take is hilarious, I can't help but laugh when I see Abraham's facial expressions when he first sees Selena in the bustier. But you can tell he's a father with traditional values and doesn't want his daughter objectified or overly sexualized to be successful in music, hence his angry reaction to seeing her without much covered from the waist up except her breasts. "She's in her bra! She can't be wearing stuff like that, there are men out here!"
Karla Pineda her funeral was set early April 1995 she was supposed to perform at the Los angels Arena but she was laid to rest at Seaside Funeral Home she had white roses on her casket during her burial in April 1995
Her Dad was mad when she wore a bustier but he had no problem with what she was wearing when she was little at the beginning so how is it any different?
Ale Bihh I don’t know what she’s wearing in the beginning doesn’t exactly match the fashion kids wore in 1980 I had a cousin who was around the same age as Selena in the beginning where their at the Bayfront and she would’ve gotten in trouble for wearing something similar like that
Sometimes her dad be treating her like she’s a little girl and stuff and she’s not she’s older she can wear what she wants he needs to lighten up on her he’s too tough on her 💯💯
idk why de littlr girl who protrayed young Selena was bullied coz to me i felt like i was watching de real young version of Selena shes a beautiful dancer
Not accurate at all. In 1989 she had blond hair. She didn't even do the bustier until 1991. This movie was so inaccurate. I don't suggest anyone to watch it.
“I think she looks cute” supportive Mom goals🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

The father captured the Mexican dad perfectly. "She's in her bra!"
2:20 Her childhood has ended
2:02 getttt ittt 💃🏻
You could really hear the anger in Abrahams voice when he saw Selena in her "bra".

Cutie Erin it's called over protection. Parents will be parents no matter how big or small their kids will be.

The young Selena looks like my former supervisor and has the same last name Meza.

ah yes, do not watch this absolute banger of a movie because they got her hair color wrong and the exact year she wore a bustier wrong.
@@eveib123 Lots of movies are filled with inaccuracies. Hercules still is one of my favorite films to this day.
