      Thank you very much, that’s an awesome compliment! My channel is just new, i only had 21 subscribers in December, i really wasn’t expecting to do a build series, but people got interested, so here we are 👍💪😁

    Very cool on the wiring!!!
    I would be lost. But you were very
    smart labeling everything first!!
    Can’t wait to hear it and see it go!!!
    Thanks

      I know this is building towards the test run, but we have a little more to go. I rattle can painted my first one and it ended up costing more than i thought for a “cheap” paint job. There’s a local company that does powder coating and i think i’m going to try it out. What would be some good colors? I was thinking orange for one and aircraft grey for the other...

    Never seen a wirein project made so easy to follow. Always been kinda scared to even mess with one. What a confidence booster this is. Thanks for another great instructional video, well done brother.

      Thank you very much. I know wiring is super intimidating and i wanted to show how approachable it could be.

    Awesome channel to stumble on. Would it be suitable to use a Can-Am outlander 650 as a donor engine with the rear differential and running gear? It's already has IRS too.

    • @KJRaycing
      @KJRaycing  Год назад

      Aw thank you. That would a great donor for sure! The only difficult part would be finding longer axles so it’s not too narrow. I’d love to see that build 👍

    What about an ignition from like a 68 to 72 Chevy pickup that's mounted in the Dash that would give you enough circuits for on off switch starter clutch safety and all that with one key

    I built ambulances for many years and know a thing of two about building harnesses. Can be a pain sometimes. I like your method of extending the wires. I wouldn't hook up the ground first, you could have arced the positive on the frame if you weren't careful. Very good instructional video.

    I think you said you use weather resistant heat shrink. I'm not familiar with it. I use marine grade heat shrink tubing. It seals out moisture and will last longer without coroding.
    If I'm chopping factory wiring I like to leave as much as i can intact. I leave several inches at the end and some slack in case i need to cut into it again.

    • @KJRaycing

      I think I said I use heat shrink to make them weather resistant, I actually didn’t know there was marine grade heat shrink… I’ll definitely be looking into that! Thank you. 👍

    Hey man love your channel i have been hunting for a polaris outlaw 500/525 rear irs assembly would you happen to have any leads on one?

    • @KJRaycing
      @KJRaycing  3 года назад

      They are out there, you just have to wait it out. I waited 10 years for my first one. But only a few months for my second one.You have to check twice a day. The search term “outlaw 525 irs” will help you get better results. Good luck!

    What tubing and size do you use? Hopefully buying plans soon just looking around at prices for material

    • @KJRaycing
      @KJRaycing  3 года назад

      1.5” and 1.25” according to the rule book. .083 wall is the min but i use .095 because it’s actually less expensive. The chassis and jig will run you a little under a G, but it is well worth it and will keep you busy while you save up for other components 👍

    why do you solder instead of crimping when you are after safety and reliability? solder will break from vibration!

    • @KJRaycing
      @KJRaycing  3 года назад +1

      I crimp the ends and solder extensions, then wrap it in a loom to reduce vibration. The original kart (#27) has a ton of hours and all kinds of abuse with no effects on the rebuilt soldered harness. I’ve been doing RC for 20 years and never had a soldered joint break (short course, planes and race drones). Thank you for the comment, and feel free to crimp your wires 🖖.

    So….. I didn’t solder anything…. I used butt spiced and the shrink wrapped it. Should I rip it all apart and solder it all? I think I know the answer….🤦🏻

    • @KJRaycing
      @KJRaycing  4 месяца назад

      That’s all up to you. If it works it works 👍. I did a lot of stereos back in the 90’s your way and they worked out just fine 🤓

    • @jckremer1
      @jckremer1 4 месяца назад

      Thank you sir. I’m going to give all the connections a good tug and if they come loose I’ll solder those. Better do right vs halfway…. Really enjoy all your content man. You have Soooo many great videos and ideas.
