If there was a Penda series race at Bloomsburg I was almost certainly there. It's nice to be able to go back and watch these races again.

Feels like 1991 was a transition year in monster truck evolution. The trucks were half old style, half new style. The tracks weren't really all that great yet. They finally figured them out around 93 and 94. A lot of trucks couldn't make those gaps between the cars.

A lot of the trucks that couldn't quite make the gaps were the old leaf spring style trucks, reason being is after coming over the first set of cars the old leafers would bounce around like crazy, causing them to lose a lot of momentum. 91 was a year a lot of trucks were transitioning over to the newer coil over style and newer chassis, all thanks to Big Foots 1990 season where I believe Bigfoot 8 was disqualified and banned through the season cause Bob had it set up with the newer nitrogen style shocks and the cantilever style rear suspension setup, it made Bigfoot a heck of a lot faster since it was able to absorb a lot of the impacts from landing and keep his wheels planted better after landing. The Coil over style was good too but not as good as Bigfoots cantilever and nitrogen at the time and is why aside from the massive amount of horsepower Bigfoot was so dominant. A lot of the drivers during the 90-91 season complained about Bigfoot cause a lot of the guys were still running the old leafer chassis and they complained how they couldn't afford to put so much into building new trucks and doing the level of research like Bob Chandler was able to, so for the 1990 season the NHRA banned Bigfoot while those who could upgrade their trucks did to be able to compete against Bigfoot on a level playing field. Andy Brass would be able to compete at one event the Luiseville 1990 event but he had to drive the old Bigfoot #4 truck cause it was still a leafsprung truck at that time.

Bearfoot was probably the fastest monster truck ever made, way ahead of his time

I think each corresponding version of Bearfoot was actually more powerful than Bigfoot.
If you raced this Chevrolet Bearfoot against Bigfoot 8 in a flat drag race, it would win. If you raced the 1996 Dodge Ram Bearfoot against Bigfoot 14 in a flat drag race, it would win too.
The difference is the Bigfoot trucks handled way better, and probably had better drivers, so it produced much better results by being consistent.

@@stanleychiu7594 Andy Brass and Jim Kramer were far better drivers. I remember this one event in 1991 that Kramer was destroying everyone because he was turning it like a sprint car.

Was that King Krunch crash the cause of the truck going to left so much? Cause everytime after this event, this truck lands hard it turns to the left very easily like it's nothing.
