A song I never thought I would be able to relate to until recently. I’ve been blessed enough to be with good men in my life. Including the one who recently broke my heart. We dated in the 80’s. He never once disrespected me. Reunited in 2015. He apparently forgot to let me know that since we dated years ago, he was now an alcoholic. Like I would have known the true meaning of that anyway. My first encounter and for sure my last. I called it quits with him the first time, only realizing after that I was in luv with him. There was no way I could let him know because of how deeply I broke his heart. It took me months to get over him, but I did . I met my husband after him and had my children (reason for everything). I ended my marriage and wasn’t interested in anyone for quite a few years. I left it up to my HP. Until my heart breaker. I realized the night he came to pick me up for our first date that he was the only ex I still had that type of luv for. It’s taken me over 3 years to personally understand what the definition of an alcoholic/addict is. Lesson learned and the hard way, ouch 🥴. I’m finally seeing a light at the end. I miss the free spirited me and can’t wait to be me again. I realize there’s lessons in this, but no one could pay me enough to repeat this one. I was warned, but didn’t listen. So if anyone reads this and is dating an addict and unsure of what to do, run. And as fast as you can while never looking back. Just saw her in December live. Was not impressed she sang to her band. She didn't interact with the audience at all. Her opener was 1000 times better than her with audience interaction. I was very disappointed.
