I don't think durability changes anvil cost unless you are repairing the item, I think what you were supposed to do is get the xp from the overkill advancement which I think you get from hitting something from really high up

That definitely wasn't the intended solution. But putting a bucket in that dispenser instead of doing it with command blocks was a real oversight. Buckets break literally every puzzle map.

i went into the map, under the smoker at the beginning is a button, that just gives you levels.

you could've used the crafting table to block the water, scale up the lava, get the bucket, retrieve the water, and then WIN
This went from "abusing the login glitch" to "using the technique" in like 5 seconds xD
it's not a glitch, it's an intentional feature so you're less likely to get killed while loading in!

I'm pretty sure because you used the mace to break a block it required 6 levels to add the enchant. If you hadn't I think it would've been 5 levels.
