What would have made this a much more useful review to me would have been a discussion of its limitations (every product has limitations) and a comparison to alternative products - even other Korg Digital Pianos.
If one were to compare based on the quality of the sound, and the types of sounds available - between the Korg C1 and LP380U. Which one has the better sounding piano, jazz organ? (both has 30 sounds but the C1 is considerably more expensive)
Is there any shakiness in the piano when it is played fortissimo. My daughter is a classical piano major and is looking for something she can use in her dorm when it is too cold or wet to walk to the music building. College in Nebraska.
Hello! The integrated stand included with the Korg C1 is quite sturdy. If she's able to sit the piano on a stable, flat surface of her dorm room, I wouldn't expect any movement out of it, even playing fortissimo. Is it hard to play near the top of the keys by the fall board? Is there a big disparity between pressing the white keys vs. the black keys? How is the tone decay? This looks to be a very nice digital piano -- wish I could find one to try before buying!
I ended up getting the C1 Air. It's a wonderful digital piano. The sustain is excellent, black keys/white keys nice balanced, easy to play near the fall board. Such a joy to play.
Hello, Deluca! No it cannot. Bluetooth is not a fast enough means of audio transmission to be used for live playing. If this keyboard were able to transmit a Bluetooth signal that your headphones could connect to, there would be too much of a lag for it to be usable. Bluetooth is typically used for playing back prerecorded audio where the lag is not detectable. Thanks for the interest! I have C1air, it's not bad at all, the function like Bluetooth, MIDI in and out, split and layer, really great action, great look, etc... and good price make's it desirable but now after 3 years of playing it I must tell that Sound is not so great like it is on videos you can find on net. High and low keys sounds good but mid range is mudy and unrealistic. Connected to PA system sound in mudy and just not so good. This is just my honest opinion .
Erskine, you the man with the fab fingers and the bright presentation. Now if Korg will up the DP polyphony to a true 120 notes, give us more Favorites capacity, and allow layering from the others button they would snag this keyboard fish with a purchase! Here's a novel idea Korg,Roland,Casio,Kawai,Yamaha. Instead of just giving us ivory heads a hand full of tones on your DPs why not include a button for importing/ downloading sounds on our instrument like Nord does. That would keep our DP fresh and interesting for quite a while. Anyways, nice product ,the c1 air. Maybe next time Korg. For now I'll keep hoping and waiting for upgrades to your dp line. This coming from a guy with a Kurzweil pcmx 88 and a K N 7000- not a bad combo.
Hello, I love the quality of the piano, and now wanting to inquire for a Korg C1 Air! may I know the songs on every styles that you have played. They were magnificent and I would love to know the songs and practice them too as I received my "to be bought" Korg c1 air piano soonest?
The first song is Armando's Rhumba by Chick Corea. The rest are mostly improvised jazz/bebop riffs. There is also a quote from the intro of Stevie Wonders "As". Feel free to check out my channel and subscribe too. Thanks
I was wondering If the Korg D1 and the Korg C1 Air share the same touch and action, the same bank of sounds, and the same quality of those. I understand the differences between features like speakers and demo sounds. But, for playing and sound, are they just the same, only that one has the furniture included and the other is portable? If they were the same, they have the same acoustic piano sounds (German Gran Piano, Japanese Grand Piano) and dynamic response, am I right? Thanks in advance. I did not know where to ask this question.
Hi, Keval - sorry for any confusion, but the 13.66" spec is likely the correct one. Let us know if we can help with anything else. Thanks! Jason Filloramo, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1281, Jason_Filloramo@sweetwater.com
Hi, Akmal! Thanks for your inquiry and interest in Sweetwater Sound. While they're both similar pianos, the C1 Air has a few notable features. The key differences between the LP and the C1: - The C1 has dual 25w speakers vs. 22w in the LP - The C1 has bluetooth audio streaming from devices - C1 and LP both have 30 different sounds, but the C1’s pianos are updated to include new German and Japanese grands found on the Korg Grandstage. The LP380 has Kronos engine-derived sounds which are also very high quality. Important to note that they share the same keybed, the Korg RH3, which is KORG's highest end weighted keybed, and manufactured in Japan. I don't understand, does Korg C1 Air have the same touch response than Korg D1? I read people saying that Korg C1 has poor dynamics but D1 is competing against ES110. I don't get it!! im so confused
@@FoursideAssetManagement paying attention to hand/arm weight, key depression speed, large motions vs. small motions. Look up piano playing dynamics videos on RUclips.
@@kettlebelle290 I'm actually not asking you how to create dynamic contrast on a piano. I'm asking you to clarify why the korg would be "more demanding." For example, "it has a greater dynamic range" or greater "dynamic possibilities."
DO NOT order Korg C1 air. I ordered one. Some of the keys have a high pitch clicking noise which I found unbearable, plus the touch is really bad. I then popped in to a piano shop, same story here with both C1 and G1 air. If you want the best value for your money, go with Kawai cn29. It’s more expensive, but wow it’s absolutely amazing! It doesn’t have the ‘use it as a bluetooth speaker’ option but I can’t be bothered less about that. The sound (several piano samples) and keyboard is absolutely lovely, ivory feel, it’s like playing a real piano. I hope this helps someone.
@@littlefish3503 my advice: make sure to video the packaging because should you decide to return it it's super hard to figure out how to package it back
@@mrsceptical6686 thank you. I just cancel my order because I found many complaints about the cliching noises for the keyboards. Is that true when you tried it?
I disagree. The Kawai CN29 is at least 50% more expensive. There is simply nothing better under 1000 dollars or euro than the Korg C1 or Korg LP-380u. I recently bought a Roland FP-30X and it sounds awful in comparison.
in my book this its not a real review, no cons only pros and no comparison to other pianos in same price range, so for me its more a sale speak then a review.....
