Hey Jason, love your videos man. You are the first and only youtubber that I have subscribed to. A month ago I went to visit a new hobby shop in my area to find that they have a real indoor clay track. I was immediately drawn in to the excitement. Up till now I have only messed with nitro powered RC cars and even that has been years ago. I'm in the process of building a RC10T4.2 (always liked the stadium trucks). I wanted to tell you that I'm grateful that you do your product reviews. I have bought a few parts for my truck based on your reviews. I picked up the Protech 160 servo that you just reviewed a few weeks ago and when I have the cash in hand I plan on going with the SMC speed control that you reviewed. Any other advice for a noob that has never, ever, raced on a clay indoor track before??? Keep up the good work sir!
Nice video, better angle of view as well. Did you video taped all the races? Beside yours, there seems to be only liverc's full race day coverage, and some races had connection problem and wasn't very watchable.

I bought a ECX Torment and steel gears, Sidewinder 3 4600 system... 3cell 5200 liPo... You know... What are the standards for most sportsman Mod 2wd classes. I haven't raced since Losi made the XXX series... (10 years? )

Just want to race a couple weekends a month and thrash the rest... I figured with your experience, you could dirrect me in the way of preformance and backyard bashing. I'm new to Short Course. Does Associated still make basic, upgraded and Factory Team kits? They used to be $200 average as a kit without electronics
To me it's insane those are 2wd, I wonder if they would be significantly faster around that track with 4wd? Maybe not because it's so high traction? Anyway, amazing driving Maifield.
***** They are faster every "normal" lap with a 4wd SCT. The main reasons however are not actual top speed nor is it cornering. The main and probably the only reason they are faster is quickness and later braking. In a 2wd the drivers have to start braking 30-35% earlier and the acceleration of a 2wd is slower as well. You make a good point with the high traction. 2wd's are very good on high traction. If the race was on a much looser surface, there wouldn't be a contest. Oddly enough, the 2wd buggies are faster than the 4wd SCT.

Made it brushless (I raced before brushless... nitro only... brush hang up ALWAYS ended my day before the Amain) I have broken the slider drives, body posts (getting used to 3cell brushless power wheelies!) It doesn't even hook up in my yard... I have 2 tracks within 40 miles... I wanna race... what can I do to be competive? well' ai got the power and truck... Any ideas on getting the power to the ground and being controlable... at least semi controlable!
jonnybbaby5150 1/10 is usually done with 2s lipo. that is probably where all the extra power is coming from. Also get rid of the stock tires and use ones that excell at your local track. thats about it, other than upgrading to a race bred truck, you cant do much with the torments. My brother had one and it broke all the time.
I'm not a Noob... But don't want rhe local track Douche-Wizard thinking he's got the whole show already wrapped up...... Shocks, hub upgrades, gearing, tires, ect. My truck is stock... Needs tires and a more aerodynamic body and "CVD" type drive.... any Ideas?
+jonnybbaby5150 The ECX is more of a fun style truck...you may want to consider a 22sct 2.0 or the Sc5m and a sensored motor set up if you want to race. the sensorless systems tend to cog and are not as smooth.
His line around that front left corner was just so much better than the rest of the field, amazing!

Sct is just so much more entertaining to drive and to watch.

+mizunoriverside It's the power to weight ratio with the 2wd buggies. They are light as a feather.
