I Did The Same Technique But Instead Of Rolling Forward Twice I Dash Forward Once And Attack With Flick Then Used The Heavy Attack Of The Weapon And Did The Wall Trick .
If You Have Lvl 5 Divine Judge Set . You Can Get 10% Defence For Each Stacks Which Makes Him A Bit Bulky After 4 Or 5 Stacks

Helm: Vaporization
Armor: Half-life, Transfusion, Catalyst (but used Shadow remedy)
Weapon: synchronisation, precision, time bomb

The himmelstein perk might delay the critical hits, and disturb the combo,

It doesn't reset,
But it's time consuming to get the first 3 or 4,
But comes quickly after wards till it's max

About grinding gems:
Firstly, when logging into the game every day, use the bonus card from the daily rewards by watching ads, you get 10/20 games per day from that,
Also if battle pass is live: don't gather rewards before claiming, claim as one milestone is complete and use bonus card, you get gems also from there (5/10 gems)
And if you want to get tangible amount of gems, try going to the free section and work with tapjoy games or other companies nekki is in work it in that aspect, complete offers and you will get gems (offers includes downloading one of their games and complete several quests, each stage if the quests has its level of rewards)
Also, you can get gems from marathons, (weekly event marathons, monthly marathons, friday-monday marathons e.g: master key sprint)
So all that are ways to get gems
