    The last example helped me shape my mouth properly and I finally got a somewhat consistent buzz. Thank you!

    Someone recommended your video for MP buzzing introduction, I followed the link and cannot agree more :)
    I play pocket and sometimes take the MP (or just a plastic one I don't care to lose) and "sing" with it, playing with the Piano and generally annoy my family :)
    I believe that physical features are key to success in playing certain instruments, and you have the perfect lips. For trumpet, I mean ! :)
    Cheers

      hey, this is a very late reply but you have to tighten your corners a bit more and try to speed up the air more

      @@maxlainfiesta5780 when we buzz ( without mouthpiece), is our chin supposed to feel the air? When I buzz, I feel the air coming out from my mouth and going down to my chin.

    Would you recommend playing both saxophone and trumpet to a student?

    • @MusicTeacherWalker
      @MusicTeacherWalker  9 месяцев назад +1

      It can be done but trumpet playing can really tire out the mouth so going from trumpet immediately to saxophone might not get you the best tone on sax. But alternating with some time in between should be just fine.

    Which lip should be buzzing? upper, lower or both?

    • @MusicTeacherWalker
      @MusicTeacherWalker  2 года назад +4

      Both. And ideally just the center of them. Think “thin lips” and buzz with the corners of your mouth tight. And don’t puff your cheeks 😉
