Ran a TD25 years ago as my daily driver in the Early 90s.
Probably a thousand hours on this dozers Twin.
    They roll coal constantly.
I would go home in the evenings and scrub my face from the soot.
On extremely windy days I wore goggles, and would look like a raccoon at the end of the day.
Great video, thanks for the memories.

such a shame that There USED to be a HUGE IH plant not far from where I was raised as a child in Melrose Park Illinois, where the construction side of IH's plant was, and employed a HUGE amount of people, and by the 1980's is was all but gone,! What I do know about them is what they built, they built to last and they were touch machines. Always happy when I see a video on one that is being saved and used. Great work Sam!

Back in the day, "Turning It Up" meant taking a pair of Vice Grips to the Fuel Return line, but fuel was well under a dollar a gallon, and oil was supposed to be black, on Diesels anyway, LOL. You might want to look for a "modified" fuel return line, and just cut the modified part out, and throw a compression coupling over where it used to be. Good luck, She's a keeper!

Love watching you. People work on these 5060-year-old equipment. Trying to get him running. I think they made better equipment back in those days. However, I can go back a little farther. When I was a teenager, my grandfather taught me how to operate the steam tractors that the farmers use to use. So that tells you how old I am

They did tend to smoke... I'm not sure I would say they smoked that much though. Hard to tell as it seemed like it cleaned up more after the engine got some heat in it. I'd feel better if it had an EGT gauge if a person is going to keep it under sustained loads. Or back the fuel off and call it a day.

the heavy smoke is the nature of the beast , in 1964 Sask Dept of hi-ways purchased several TD 25's and they all smoked heavy, IHC advised the 817 CU engines nature was heavy dark exhaust, in 1968 Clark Construction purchased a brand new IHC TD-30 with 817 Cu inch engine Power shift , it was a brute could push a mountain and it rolled
    the coal!
