If anyone is confused about the first flag of the Philippines, its the flag they flew during their revolts against Spain. The KKK part refers to the “Katipunan” and has nothing to do with Nathan Bedford Forest.

Pretty sure a lot of these weren't actually countries at the time of their "original" flags. Like the "original" Canadian flag is just the English flag because Canada was not a thing yet. In fact the idea of a nation state didn't exist until the last 100-200 years. Before that it was kingdoms and city-states.

In Europe, yes. Outside Europe, things were very different. China, Korea and Japan were pretty much already a thing more than a thousand years ago. The Chinese people are called the Han, because their national identity was formed during the Han dynasty(202BC~220AD). Koreans had a unified identity at least by the 13th century, as we can see in the book 'Samguk Yusa', a history book that promotes nationalism.
You can't just take the flag of a former colony's mother country and say that was the original flag of the country, like you did for Canada, Argentina and South Africa. By that logic, you should have used the English flag for the United States, the Portuguese flag for Brazil and the Spanish flag for the Philippines.
