What if the USA joined the Axis in 1942? - Project Stresa Episode 6
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 8 сен 2024
- In this Alternate History with A point of divergence in 1919, Austria being admitted into Germany, has caused a cascade of effects that has led to a significantly different world war two than our timeline.
The previously neutral United States of America has suddenly joined the Axis following an Allied surprise attack on Pearl Harbor.
But why was this done? Why didn't they just let the Giant sleep? Well, it was because they couldn't afford to.
Discover the answer, and the fallout of Pearl Harbor in this episode of Project Stresa.

"Canada is not a suitable invasion ground for the States, no matter how much Hearts of Iron IV you've played."
Fuck did not expect that one, lmao
Really good stuff here man
Thanks! I was worried I said it too quickly. Glad the joke didn't ruin the immersion!
I love, adore the nuance of international alliances in this alternate history. I especially appreciate how they evolve, and despite certain ideological alignments, ultimately bend according to pragmatism and reactionism- it's very believable.
Thanks a lot! I tried to avoid the Cold War / Hoi4 logic of ideology = alliance when there were plenty of examples of that not being the case in the Second World War. I was worried it would be controversial, I’m glad to see that not be the case!
Already know that this is gonna be good
Thanks for your confidence! I hope you enjoyed!
Knowing the potential of American industry and what kind of a giant it can grow, one can only imagine how screwed the Saxonians really are now.
Waiting eagerly for part 7 and hope it will contain more action now.
Thanks a lot! Yeah, things are going to get interesting!
I'm a huge fan of this! It's really what I've been wanting in an alt history, how far are you planning on this timeline to go?
Thanks a lot for your comment! I tend to take a gardener approach with my writing so I actually don't really know! Stresa already is way different than I had imagined when I started. Stay tuned to see!
Really, better than pretty much all alternate history videos I’ve seen. Keep up the good work! 👍
Thanks so much! Really appreciate the comment!
Ive been watching this all day, the animation is so smooth the story is crazy and the timeline is 100% unexpected! Nice
Wow, thanks! I’m glad you like the animation style. Hope you have a good day!
No problem! Waiting for next part in 2 hours!
Just binged this series, really great stuff. Rarely are alternate history videos this in-depth and this long, can't wait to see more.
Thanks a lot for your comment! I am glad that this long form content has been received so well!
Until now I really liked this scenario. But I am not so certain about the inclusion of the USA. It seems kinda off for the Japanese to attack the US even though they support the Chinese. The Japanese army, air and sea forces would have already been streched thin, due to the war with China and the Soviets aswell as the occupation of Indochina. That why I would doubt the Japanese attack, especailly without prior attepts of diplomatic solutions towards the American-Sino support. In our timeline the Japanese had two plans, either North(against the Soviets) or South (against European colonies and the USA)[ and they chose South], they knew that they could never hold out against both the Soviets aswell as the USA. Thats why I think that even though the US supports the Chinese the Japanese wouldn't attack them, because they started fightig the Soviets prior.
Thanks for your comment.
I agree that the bombing of pear harbour is not as plausible as I once thought. I hope that you continue to watch as I attempt to explain my reasoning and make a compelling scenario
@@LoreDad Thanks for your reply.
Ofcourse I will continue to watch, it is still quite interesting.
I really like your scenario, exept the mentioned point above.
Have a great day and tonns ideas for future videos ;D
"DID WE STOP WHEN THE GERMANS BOMBED PEARL HARBOR? NO!"
one of the more imaginative alt histories
Thanks for the compliment!
this serie Is becoming Fire , love it
🔥thanks!!
This is really great man keep up the good work
Thanks so much!!
Great scenario. Can't wait for part 7.
Thanks so much!
I found masterpiece time to binge all of episode
You had me happy all the way until America joined the Axis. Some part of me utterly doubts that this would be possible in any way.
Thanks for your comment
I am sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the pearl harbor inclusion. I admit that it is not as plausible as I had once thought, but I hope that you can enjoy the story regardless. Hope you have a good day!
Great series!
I love a chaotic world anytime, anywhere, this thing has me on the edge of my seat! Can't wait for the next episode.
Thank you so much! Glad to hear that you’re engaged! Exactly what I was hoping for!
WOW. This series is so good. I've been binging it all day. I came up with a similar alt-hist project long ago but never finished it, but this is MUCH better. You need more subs.
Thank you very much for your praise! Hope you have a good day!
Excelente calidad ❤
Me encanta esa historia alternativa ;)
Muchos Gracias!
The intricacy of this WW2 is fascinating and I’ve never seen anything like it
Astonishing stuff.
Also, I highly believe that Poland would install a co-belligerent regime in occupied Ukrainian and Belarussian territories (prometheism doctrine), possibly inviting UPR and BPR governments in exile or placing people like Bulak-Balachowicz (for Belarus) and Shandruk (for Ukraine) in charge of respectful territories.
Anyways, very interesting series :D
Subscribed. I assume the US would turn Canada into a bunch of territories and later into a bunch of states, since Canada had a much smaller population and a primarily English-speaking population. The Soviet strategy is an interesting one. In our timeline there actually were a few attempts at revolution in Northern Iran, first in the Russian Civil War and second in the immediate aftermath of World War 2. In fact, there was even a plan for the revolutionaries then in control of Iranian Azerbaijan to unify with the Azeri SSR, although the British prevented this. I can't remember if I've mentioned this in another comment but, I'd be interested to see how the Viet Minh is doing against Anglo-Japanese occupation. Finally, I think the United States would still get the atomic bomb first (especially if they're willing to allow Soviet scientists to work with them in the Manhattan Project), but I doubt that would significantly impact the course of the war.
Thanks a lot for your comment!
The expansion of the Azeri SR will be covered in the next episode.
The idea for the Soviets to invade India to ferment a revolution was also even considered in the 1920's, as they saw the liberation of India to mean the collapse of the capitalist economy of Britain to trigger a revolution there as well.
Will the Soviets succeed in their gamble? Will Britain hold?
Stay tuned!
Ws for @LoreDad for making such masterpiece ✨✨
I appreciate your confidence in my work, since it’s not completed yet!
21st November. After neglecting it for a month I have come back to (not binge watch BUT) watch Project Stressa (If that is what it is spelled as)
I've finally made it to this episode (7 or 6th, I'm typing stop bothering me) and I have to say this is better than most alternate history channels, as in terms of my preferences being considered more 😅
Anyways, this is the best alt-history I've ever seen, and man I admire you so much for this, thank you so much
(And coincidentally, the last piece of music is the Sacred War which I have just learnt of and have been playing it on my phone for a while now, damn!)
I Like your alternate history idea , cheep the Good work 👍
Thanks a lot!!!
Absolute S Tier Content. Without a fleeting shadow of a doubt.
Thank you so much!!
I really love this ww2 scenario
Thank you very much! I’m really enjoying it too!
good job
Thank you!
This has been amazing so far! Having the Soviets and Americans collaborate will be difficult, but I have a feeling that all those British troops from Canada + the French Quebecois will prove instrumental in undermining Vichy France's, America's and The USSR's aspirations. We also know that the Japanese navy was superior to America's in the early years of the war, the American success being the consequence of a lack of oil on Japan's part and a massive ship production capacity on America's part (plus... you know). Since Japan and Britain are allies that means Japan is not suffering from a lack of oil and seeing as Japan had superior strategies to America in WW2 (making extensive and successful use of surprise attacks) then it's possible Japan might actually be capable of being the MVP in the Pacific and Indian Ocean.
Yeah the Latin axis is a very irrational alliance. Will they stick together?
Thanks for your comment!
I find you today and i have watched all of the videos of this timeline. I love this alternative scenario
Thanks so much! Glad you like it!
Idk which is worse, on one side Japan can win and do terrible things in Asia, on the other one Europe is fully fascist, and I don't even want to imagine what the Cold War of this TL is gonna be like, if there even is gonna be one, I am also curious if the US will manage to use nukes against Japan in this TL or if the british and german could achieve it first.
Thanks for your comment!
Yeah, it’s pretty bad no matter what side wins. The effects that a Latin axis alignment have already changed American politics for the worst, so even in an American victory, they will have been influenced by their axis sympathetic citizens.
Whoever develops the nukes first will definitely have an advantage, we will need to see! Hope you tune in next time!
@@LoreDad Of course I will, this one of the best alt-hist series I have ever found on YT, I am sure your channel is gonna get tons of subscribers
Loving this series so far and I'm glad I get to binge it as I catch up! haha
I have only one critique, when you refer to German strategic operations, you're writing and saying "unterhemen" the word you're looking for is "unternehmen" 😊 keep up the the great work!
Dude I love this series! I Really hope that more people stumble on your content man. Your vids are awesome!
Thanks so much for your high praise!
@@LoreDad I just got give credit where it's due :)
this was sick!hyped for ep 7
Thank you! Me too!
such a great channel honestly, looking forward towards the next episode.
Came here after discovering the full complete series and reaching the pearl harbor part, was loving the storytelling and high production values with the maps but this felt like a pretty weak entry on the series. Japan wouldn't have much reason to declare war on the USA, specially after securing a strong military alliance with the UK and going for the go north "Hokushin-ron" strategy. By fighting alongside Britain, the southern military supplies and trade routes of crucial resources such as oil (They straight up have direct land connection with Burma and Singapore, fuel would've been a non concern) would've been a given so going south and fighting the USA to grab the Philipines as a staging ground for the SEA colonies would've not been necessary at all.
FYI I'm saying this having not watched the rest of the series but I hope you address this later because this went down from masterpiece to just great. Maybe you do and I'm proven a fool, but at least I would end up happy listening to a good story.
Thanks for your comment. I definitely agree that Pearl Harbor being bombed was a weak point of the series. I don’t regret it too much though, as it resulted in a really interesting story. Thanks a lot for your comment and feedback!
Great job always good when a new episode releases cant wait for episode 7
also yay im in the video
Thanks! I will do my best to make Episode 7 great!
You had me going for this entire series until the US joined the war
I am sorry that you are dissapointed with this development. I hope that you stay tuned to see what I have in store for them!
@@LoreDad No worries ill continue watching since i still enjoy the series but i don't think it's all that realistic that they joined
Loredad is the best youtuber
Thanks so much!
Still waiting for an hoi4 mod of this
Same here tbh
lets go new episode
I'm excited to see what you all think!
your videos are absolute bangers and I love them
I am very impressed by his ability to create this Alternate History timeline, might as well have someone make a Hoi4 mod on this.
Underatted
Thanks so much!
A hundred subscribers? Bro multiplied his subscriber count by ten in six days.
Just binged this it's great!
What site did you use to make the maps? It looks so good and I am an alternate history fan too, I really would like to try that site
Thanks for your comment
I use the QBam base map you can find in the description, or further google searches. I then use photoshop, aftereffects and premiere for creating the assets, animate them, and add the finishing touches.
Hope that helps!
Let's go!
Yasss let’s go chat
This series is so good
I am really glad to hear that you like it so much. Thanks!!!
Franklin D. Roosevelt was and still is a personal hero to me and what happened to him here sucks😢
pretty cool fr
Thanks a lot!
i like the work man
Thank you so much!
got to love that in almost every alternate history America is always dumb enough to side with Stalin lol
Yeah. Apparently the USA only were able to learn about Stalin’s reign of terror a while afterward, hindsight is 20/20 I suppose! Thanks for your comment!
well done in just one video you already impressed me you a sub
Thanks! I am very glad!
btw@@LoreDad just asking when is episode 7 gonna be published don't be mad at me, I
I'm just excited to see episode 7
No problem! I have been trying to keep a weekly upload schedule so HOPEFULLY you will see it on November 3rd! However, it may be delayed since I will be busy for me and my family's Haloween.
This is really good🎉
Thanks so much! Really appreciate comments like this!
I don't have time to watch it but from the shorts I think it's gonna be a good video
O yea new sub :) your videos are cool
Thanks a lot! Hope you have a good day!
Yoo your so nice you know what I will like every video and tommorow I will watch them all
I promise
Thanks a lot!!@@marloi
Np ty for being nice
if your yt channel was listed on the stock market, i would buy loadsa shares. you are going to make it far.
Thank you so much, that’s very flattering!
I feel it would be more realistic if Britain cut off Japan as an ally after pearl harbour
Yo not to sound rude, but i think something you need to work a bit on is annunciating better. There are some points in the video (especially earlier on) where it sounds like some words are getting jumbled together, i can still understand what you're saying though for the most part. Annunciation and talking just a tad slower will go a long way for you I believe.
Thanks for the feedback! I’ll try to keep that in mind. I heard feedback that I spoke too slowly in my other videos so I must have over adjusted.
Cant wait
Me neither! Exciting developments this episode
The japanese attack on pearl harbour still doesn't make sense. The idea that america would join because of china would be dismissed by most japanese authority figures. In otl the oil embargo started because japan invaded indochina. However in this timeline, indochina is ruled by a fascist colonial power and not a democratic colonial power opposed to the nazis. Also the americans would look like hypocrites if they embargoed japan for invading indochina but not the UK. Lastly in otl japan attacked america because they wanted to seize the resources of south east asia as part of the nanshin ron doctrine, and attacking the US would not only hopefully cripple the US navy and allow them to seize everything they wanted, but would provide them key pacific naval bases like the phillipines.
In this scenario you've given us, japan went with the hokushin ron doctrine, meaning they're striking north to seize the resources of siberia, which attacking america does absolutely nothing to assist them in doing so.
Gotta balance the teams out a little now with both USSR and America in one team, maybe a second American civil war? Idk just an idea
"I recently passed a 100 subscribers" meanwhile 1670 subs lol (btw i gave one too) great video!
Thanks so much for your subscription! I can’t believe how meteoric this channel has risen. Hope you have a good day!
thx@@LoreDad
6/10 semi decent explanation
Ehh 8/10 its done well i just disagree with the usa ever joining
Thanks for your feedback!
this is based project
Thank you for such high praise!
No way Europe is surviving this one
what tool do you use?
I use the QBam base map you can find in the description, or further google searches. I then use photoshop, aftereffects and premiere for creating the assets, animate them, and add the finishing touches. Hope this helps!
THX u should make a tutorial video!@@LoreDad
Thanks for the suggestion, I may do that in the future!
BONKERS
Nuts!!
You know i dont really see any reason why britian and germany would risk to have to declare war on the US due to japanese shenanigans in hawaii .
And sibce at this pount latin axis is almost gone. In europe and no enemy navy to worry about the european dont really need japan since iran, afghanistan and turkey are helping against the soviets.
Again saxonian shot themself in the foot for siding with japan against the US
Please make greater Québec
Its definitely a possibility, I won't lie. I will do what ends up working to have the most plausibility for the scenario, so stay tuned!
@@LoreDad thanks you
Quebec nationalist begging for lore cause of real life issues, is crazy
Pls make a axis victory
Thanks for the comment. I’m going to be making a “canon” ending, as well as a bonus episode where we talk about other outcomes, so even if the axis doesn’t win in canon, we will detail several axis victory scenarios!
What if we considered communism evil instead of socialism?
Sorry, not sure I follow. What are you trying to say?
@@LoreDad As someone who knows a lot about both communism and socialism, I also don't know what he's trying to say. But "what if socialism wasn't considered evil" is a neat scenario idea, albeit an unrealistic one.
@@chrisgaming9567 I think he is trying to say what if communism, specifically, was considered evil instead of the whole socialist movement, as there are many ideologies which include socialism in some maner and aren't communist
@@GuilhermeS2008 its not like socialism fighting for the same goal of changing economic system completly and its not like everyone that could, already triied to steal aestethics of socialism while deonauncing communism.
