How can I keep the matte/opaque look of my Doc Martens? I don’t want them shiny.
i guess try another brand. i use Kiwi shoe polish for my parade boots (edit: not docs) and they don't really shine unless you buff them. With enough polish, they'll look like an even better matte black.
you just dont use the balsam, use kiwi leather lotion to moisturize
I just got my made in englands and put the basalm on them straight away. Haven’t worn them yet just waiting :)
Does it darken the boot and make it more shiny than they are originally
@@Ohkeh640 nope the leather appears different to the ones that aren’t made in England look fantastic. I wasn’t going for “shiny” polish/conditioner sort of neutralised it. If it looks shiny you’ll need to remove any excess polish as it’s probably just reflecting light because it’s a liquid substance. It’s not shiny it’s still a matte appearance.
I darkened my Gaucho Crazy Horse leather with these. The store clerk should have warned me about this. I wonder if the colour would return back to normal.
did the color return to normal? i just bought my gaucho crazy horse and wondering if i should consider buying wonder balsam.
Im no expert to leather and its care products, but as far as i know it gets darker because of the oil, wax and moisture of the wonder balsam.
Do not put this in suede or vegan leather! Only works on the original leather style.... The rest of my shoes (I own a bunch of Camper and Camper Lab Boots... If you like docs, you'll friggin love Camper. They're not as clunky tho clunky is the reason I like docs on the first place) I just spray them with the water proofing spray
What about vegan leather ? Wish there was advice for cleaning the vegan docs
How would the store clerk know what you're buying them for? Like when you buy a condom do you want advice on d size too?
Wonder balsam, dubbin and Polish, in which order should I use them?
mine is I put a lot of wonder balsam then leave it for a couple of days (optional) until everything is dry. I don't wipe some excess I just leave everything, then once they're dry I put the polish then dubbin for extra protection.

I ordered the shoe protection kit which didn't come with a sponge for the balsam. what should I use instead? and should I use Ultra Protector spray before or after?
I think you can use a cloth for it. Or maybe buy a soft sponge or use a towel

For 1460 made in England ,do the brown inner shoes need to be balsamed as well ?

@@thedirectionerxgleek it depends if you wear it every day for work at least once a week during your rest day.
Can the wonder balsam apply at the side area of the outsole? Would it help to avoid outsole cracking or split? I had one of my 1461 split on the left side of the sole, I dont want my other dr.martens crack the sides at the outsole.
Can you use this on a timberland boot
i think their Dubbin Wax is more for nubuck-ish type boots. i could be wrong though

You can apply it inside to help soften the leather

Bring back the shiny leather jadon boots the new Jadons are matte and aren’t the same good quality as they used to be!

Leave it to absorb into the leather. Then wipe off any excess
