Hunters can get through the electric gates with Eyes of the Beast, by getting the pet to path through the gate and casting it. To get your pet to path through, all you need to do is jump towards the gate and it'll go through. It may try to run back, so cast it as quickly as possible and try until you make it.
Can also confirm fixed. No drops after 5 resets. Only getting the Object, not Salvage. It also locks you to the instance. Pray no one else in your guild did this before raid day.

Yes. Once you kill a boss the trash up to that boss won’t ever respawn and more importantly you are saved to the raid and cannot Reset Instances to respawn the trash.
You don't get locked no, I did raid farming all the time back in the day, especially Firelands. As long as you don't kill any bosses you don't get locked.
Some people have said that it might have been hotfixed. I killed a few groups (maybe a total of 40 mobs so far) and haven't gotten any salvage, and have heard other people are experiencing the same. I will continue to do a few more to make sure I'm not just getting unlucky
I assume, earthbind totem, magma totem, use totemic projection to place totems where mobs are and fire nova. Then you can chain lighting and cast other stuff while they slowly trickle down. Shamanistic rage for mana.
I'm kinda fed up on mages abusing clear exploit to get loot they are not supposed to. Plain cheeky big exploit blinking through a closed gate. Then complaining about bugged procs when you are the most bugged exploiting class in the game. We will post on the forums for blizzard to hotfix this immediately and remove all of the bug exploited loot from your inventories!
yes, good idea. here is the manual for you: 1. complain about class-X because of the possibility to farm/solo something 2. complain about prices in AH because you've complained about class-X before 3. complain about bliz banning you because you had to buy some gold on g2g rinse&repeat
