Unboxing the Goruck GR1 Heritage (21L) in Field Tan. This is an heirloom-quality backpack. Extremely well built for daily carry. I consider this the Holy Grail of backpacks. Yes, this thing is damn expensive but totally, totally, worth it.

So happy for you, I already have the GR1 21L & 26L, and I am trying to find an excuse to get the heritage one 😭
The excuse is: The earlier you buy the Heritage, the earlier you can start that aging process, the sooner it will look well-worn.
Is the heritage too heavy for edc?

I bought the GR1 Heritage Olive and finally sold it. The colour fades to white very fast and needs to be waxed again. 1000d cordura the best material.
Waxed canvas is a very interesting fabric. Dark canvas tends to lighten and light canvas tends to darken over time. That's one of the reasons why I like them, the significant aging and character-building over time.

I've heard the field tan shows the items inside the front pocket because it's so thin. Have you encountered this?
It’s the waxing process which is responsible for that from what I’ve heard.
I have the waxed canvas GR2 and it’s not an issue at all day to day

The answer is YES! But, it's barely noticeable. Over time, when it patina more, it will be less noticeable.
Aren't other non-heritage GR1s made of canvas as well?
The regular GR1 is made out of 1000d cordura. The Heritage is made out of the waxed canvas.
Yeah and the 1000d messes up your clothing because the material is so rugged

How’s the leather bottom holding up? Worried it might scratch up badly during daily use.
Holding up really well. Unless you drag it through the concrete floor day in day out, it's gonna be fine.
is it looks a little green?
Not that I'm aware of. It's a Tan one. :)
