    Lol. I did the opposite. Honestly they are all great. The cousin was too big so I went a6 but missed the weeks. But it comes down to a simple choice. If you want to journal more go hobonichi a6 with the weekly notebook as you did. If you want to journal some but plan more, go Jibun Techo B6 with the Idea notebook as your bullet journal portion. In the end I liked going full bullet journal with a solid planner vs the forced journaling the hobonichi kinda requires

      haha, true! I now use a Weeks for scheduling and the A6 for journaling. I agree that the hobonichi requires a daily update but I still love it. The bullet journal for me was too much work, even though it was tons of fun. Thanks for watching and sharing your setup!

    Doing the same...from Jibun to Hobo, but a cousin instead, specifically for the daily pages, for more in-depth daily planning. The time slots on the Hobo daily pages are going to take some getting used to because I’m used to, and so loved the Jibun which included half-hour, and Hobo just has by-the-hour slots. It’s good to branch out and try new things.

      I agree 100%. I love trying out new planners each year, and I´m pretty good at sticking with them for the entire year. It´s why I do so much pre-planning before I buy one, so I know I made the right choice. Either way it´s always fun to change. Will it be your first time using the Hobonichi? I really loved it. I´m sure if I would have picked the AVEC version in 2017, I might have been able to enjoy the daily pages more.

    Watching this two years since this was posted and can totally relate!
    I was close to buying the Jibun bec I'm used to the weekly layout spread but wanted to try a vertical this time BUT my wanting to challenge myself to do daily journaling was stronger. Hence the hobonichi A6 purchase! Was also worried that the Jibun might not fit my handwriting but might try it soon!

      Woohoo! You go girl for taking the challenge! I´ve fallen in love with all the Hobonichi planner to be honest. But I´m sticking with the smaller ones because one they are easier to fill out, portable and beatiful :D

      Thanks girlfriend! I can´t wait either! It´s always so much fun to start a new planner and see if it will all work out. Do you have any plans for what you´ll be using next year yet?

      @KallerhultCreations 5 лет назад

      I've purchased an ECLP again :O I missed my sticker galore, but I'll back plan/memory plan most of the time and use my handy dandy bullet journal/notebook for my bazillion To Do-lists :D

    • @PlannerHolics
      @PlannerHolics  5 лет назад

      sigh, the ECLP. I kind of miss it, but I would probably use it for scrapbooking more than planning because it´s so big and has so much room. Maybe one year.... when I don´t have so many projects I want to do.

      It really is a great planner! Like I said, I might just end up going back to the Jibun for 2020, who knows!

    Im like u, i cant get away from tomoe river paper. This year, i used a hobonichi cousin and an original.. i used the cousin as my planner on the weekly layout and the daily pages for sketching, it has been a success for me. I also loved using my original as a memory keeper and really want to use that again for 2019. Im just tempted to replace my cousin with a jibun because i kinda want something lighter, however, ill really miss having the daily pages!

    • @PlannerHolics
      @PlannerHolics  5 лет назад +1

      Right? It´s such great paper. I feel you on the Cousin issues. I love the monthly and weekly spreads, but the dailies are too much and information would be redundant if I used them for planning, so I ended up using them for creative journaling, problem is I like having my planner and journal separate. Good luck on your 2019 decision! hehe it´s a tough one ;)

    Very nice video! Wish I’d seen this before buying the 2019 cousin but I’ll give it a go & if it doesn’t work will switch to an A6 in 2020. Looking forward to your set up video. 😊

      @PlannerHolics  5 лет назад

      Thank you! The cousin is still an amazing planner, I´m pretty sure if I would have bought the AVEC version at the time, I might have been able to use it more, just because it´s thinner. I hope it works out for you!

    Great video and very helpful. I started out with the Hobo T but missed the weeks so I also got the weeks supplement. I found it a super hassle. And the Techno got so heavy! Plus- I wasn't bothering with daily journaling. Just doing art stuff. Been with Hobonich Weeks for the past 3 years and love. Lightweight and so many pages in the back. Picked up the Jibun Lite for tracking last year but didn't use it consistently. Like you- love planners and being organized. For 2021- Sticking with Hobonichi Weeks for daily scheduling in my life. I am going to get the Jibun [big decision: A5 or B6] for tracking, trying journaling again and creativity; personal info I don't want to carry around with me. Can leave it at home. I do not like vertical planners for day to day scheduling [hence Hobo Weeks is fab for me] BUT for tracking and the 24 hours Jibun - it would be great. Again- thanks for your video!

      Thanks for sharing your setup! I agree, I tried the Weeks for 2020 and fell in love! It´s so portable and nice for everyday scheduling. I kind of miss the vertical of the Jibun, but I just like how slim and easy it is to use, so I´m sticking with it for 2021 again. I use my A6 techo for more journaling-art style now, and am loving it! :D

    I hope you like the a6 hobonichi, I started using it this year and it's my personal favorite :)

    • @PlannerHolics
      @PlannerHolics  5 лет назад

      I hope so as well! It´s so petit and simple, I think it´s going to be really functional. The only challenge like I said, is using the daily pages consistently. Do you use yours just for planning or journaling combined?

      @@PlannerHolics i have the avec books and i used the jan-june book for planning because i was in school. but for the july-dec book i didnt use it much in the summer, but then i started using it again as journal this month and im loving it. i want to go back and fill the blank pages with kaila's (rainbowholic) kawaii 30 day journaling prompts, and my vaction that i went on in august, and im very excited about that. i am going to continue to journal in my a6 for the rest of this year, and in next year's booklets because its really helping my mental health and helping me stay grounded.

      I agree 100%, journaling is so wonderful, though I wish I could make it a daily habit, unfortunately it´s not always the case. I do have some memories written down in a little pocket planner that I got free in a magazine and I love seeing the memories of what I did each day. I thought about buying a second Hobonichi to use for journaling, but then I knew myself better, and I kind of prefer to have a blank notebook so I don´t pressure myself.

    Does adding the supplement make it a small cousin in two books? I loved my jibun techo but am confused by all the different hobonichi options.

    I have a Hobonichi but want to try the jibun but can’t decide between weeks and days 😅

    i like the vertical weekly layout (with the time slots) of the hobonichi cousin but not the horizontal layout in the hobonichi weeks. but the daily pages in the cousin would be wasteful for me... and it's very expensive. I am currently using a digital planner I made myself but I've been wanting something physical to write on like a bullet journal. My roommate LOVES the hobonichi and it's customizable enough to be like a bujo

    • @PlannerHolics
      @PlannerHolics  5 лет назад

      I agree. When I first started using the Hobonichi, I bought a Cousin and because it had so many different layouts I thought it would be perfect for bullet journaling, however the daily pages were just not used. I loved the weekly design too much. Since the A6 ONLY has daily pages, I´m hoping I can accomplish the daily planning style :). I´ve never tried the digital planner. It looks like fun, I just don´t have the proper devices for it.

    If you are not used to daily journaling you could probably try the new hobonichi Techo day to day notebook wherein the daily pages are supposedly undated like the Stalogy.

    • @PlannerHolics
      @PlannerHolics  4 года назад +1

      Oh yes! I definitely thought about that option this year, but believe or not, I LOVED the daily spread in 2019. Even though I´m going to be using a Weeks planner as my main EDC, I still got an A6 to journal each day. It´s so much fun to look back on. :)

    I'll be switching from A5 slim Jibun Techo to the Cousin Avec from July onwards. I love my Jibun Techo but I underestimate how much I write in my planner, end up using abbreviations to accommodate the 3mm grids in Jibun Techo. The meals section is also redundant for me. I really wanted to get rid of it and extend the 24 hour layout all the way down, even before I considered a Cousin at all. At first I thought the lightweight Jibun Techo would be so portable for me but every - single - time I flip it open to write something I see people staring, which I'm not fond of. Gave up bringing it along with me eventually 😅

    • @PlannerHolics
      @PlannerHolics  3 года назад +1

      I totally agree. The Cousin was definitely the way to go in your situation, and it´s great that they have the Avec option, that way it doesn´t get super heavy or big to carry. Hope it´s been working out for you! Thanks for watching love!

    • @PlannerHolics

      The Hobonichi A6 has monthly pages and daily pages so it´s all good! ;) And I always have the weekly supplement book I bought just in case, hehe.

    I got my first Jibun for 2019~can you tell me what tabs you used in the Jibun? Will be interested to hear how this year goes for you

    • @PlannerHolics
      @PlannerHolics  5 лет назад

      Awesome! did you get the A5 or B6? Jibun is so wonderful, and besides the usual monthly and weekly pages it also has so many other helpful layouts like the trackers, the collections...I´m sure you are going to love it! As for my tabs, they are just some calendar stickers I made for myself using my silhouette machine :)
