After years and years my friends Thunder .22 has loosened up and is reliable with most ammo now. He polished the insides of the recoil spring and the barrel. The barrel is bare metal now ( shiny, looks stainless now). He would also leave the slide locked back for days at a time and hand cycled and shot it a bunch. Im close to buying one.

I luv these guns as I just got my first one a month ago in .380 flavor and like only 200 thru her no problems. Thanx for sharing.

Tip: If your thunder .22 is new, lock the slide back and leave it like so for around a week. Will help a ton to break in that stiff spring. Also, Remington thunderbolts are great ammo for this weapon. Super affordable and mine has never malfunctioned using them.

You answered your concern...as the slide is medal and takes a high pressure round to cycle the next round. The CCI would be the only ammo I would use other than stingers.

Mine runs great with mini mags and Remington Golden bullets

Do you think this is a good pistol for ankle carry? I’m looking to get an ankle carry pistol

Mine is the worst out of the box gun I've ever purchased
Even with hyper velocity ammo like cci velocitor, cant fire a complete mag without issue.
Sent back to bersa for them to make it right...see how it turns out

You MUST use hi- velocity ammo if you use the cheep stuff you will always have issues the bulk packs are weak standard velocity read the speaks and use the hi-power stuff

I recently got one and had no problems with cheap bulk Winchester thankfully. I have heard of people having issues so I don't think you're lying or anything, but I guess I got lucky

I'm going to pick one up for 2 reasons my work EDC is the thunder 380 but training with it gets costly so I'm grabbing the 22 because it's identical when it comes to size hand placement and all but at 7 cents a round I'm good with it. Also I dont mind the fte/ftf because I can than have great muscle memory on what to do when this migjt happen when it's needed but also the 380 eats everything so the chances of a malfunction are much smaller

Not very finicky in ammo. Feed it with cheap armscor 22 and it will run well

I've heard good things about armscor.
