    Sweet bike. I just bought a used one of these dollies on FB market place. So far it's been great. I've got 2 bikes and 2 cars in a two car garage and the dolly makes it a lot easier to move one of the bikes around to get all of the vehicles in the space. I may get a second one at some point. I put a chunk of 2 by 4 where the kickstand goes, to keep my bike from leaning too much. (I use that same method when the bike is on the floor as well. I don't like to have too much lean.) I haven't had any problems getting the bike onto the dolly. I sit on the bike then push it forward and it goes right on.

      Cool just be careful that it doesn't roll on you...as that happened to me once. I usually put a 2x4 at the end to help stop it from moving on me as I upload the bike onto the dolly, be careful

    I had the same thing happen to me with my new black widow mc dolly (same exact design). The little steel "brakes" on the dolly slide all over my garage floor. So after assembling my dolly for 2 hours with all the wrong tools (because black widow did not provide even basic tools with the product), I went to load the bike the first time and its sliding, so i grabbed some sealant and a bunch of non skid furniture dots I had on hand and glued the dots onto the metal brakes where they make contact with the floor. Waiting for the sealant to cure, and will let you know how that works. If it still slides, i may stick some traction stickers to the floor where the dolly will park for loading and unloading.

    I glued some friction material to the “ramps”. Great idea regarding the 2x4.

      @hcdigitalart  5 лет назад

      Cool, yep...that 2x4 really does help. I have a story that happened to me when the dolly rolled on me causing me to almost drop my bike.....not pretty, since then I came up with the 2x4 idea and working great.

      How are you guys getting it off of the dolly lol I just bought one for my street glide but I had the sâme problem any tips to get it off without it rolling on you

    • @hcdigitalart
      @hcdigitalart  3 года назад +1

      Getting the bike off the dolly isn't too much of a problem for me, I just keep it rolling when getting it off, don't stop because then the latches might pop up causing the wheels to engage on the dolly. Putting the bike back onto the dolly, I use a 2x4 on one of the wheels and place it against something so that it will not move, like a brace, then align myself and ride onto the dolly. Hope this helps...

      @@hcdigitalart it does I got stuck just like you did i was trying to back it off with only the front on and it kept rolling backwards on me it wasn’t fun do you ride off the dolly or back off the dolly

    • @hcdigitalart
      @hcdigitalart  3 года назад +1

      No I ride off the dolly but keep it moving don't stop. Word to the wide, I usually have my gf there when I'm parking it onto the dolly....just in case......hmmm maybe I should make an updated video on this 🤔

    I have the same problem with this dolly. I put some anti slip tape that you put on stairs on the bottom of the dolly locks. That helped but the lever still flips up making it roll.

    It happened to me but it went sideways on me. Needless to say, I blew my hamstring out when all of the weight went on my right leg. Thanks for the safety tip. I’ve been trying to figure out what I’m going to do.

    To keep it clean and avoid wear and tear on red Chinese powder coating from tires and kickstand...
    1) cut a 7 1/4" x 13" piece of 1/8 inch masonite or free "sample " from big box or carpet store of indoor out door carpet and drop it into tray for kickstand.
    2) cut two - 7 3/4 " by 2 feet of 1/8" scrap masonite or peg board or 7 3/4 by 80" 1/8" and lay down into tire tire tray for clean look.

    No one show if you can pull off driving forward? Or do you have to back it off the dolly?

  • @lkeirnan

    I bought this dolly and I tested it out. I noticed that when you have your bike on it and you go to take it off the casters. When you move one lever then go and move the other lever it moves the first lever back onto the casters. I had to use a 20 lb weight to hold down the first handle then move the other handle. I am stuck with this so I am going to have to figure something out..

    @micheldahlhaus7400 2 года назад

    Hahaha I experienced the same thing with pretty much the same dolly. Was all by myself and was struggling for maybe 30 minutes. I even moved the part where the stands needs to fit in. I see you got the 2 metal pins removed? There were probably 2 pins with your dolly also I guess? 1 on each end of the dolly, is that correct?

  • @rachaelsorsabal551
    @rachaelsorsabal551 2 года назад

    I just had the same thing happen. The first few times I didn’t have any issues but now the dolly always moves. I’m not able to use the 2x4 trick. Is this because the levers need to be longer? Did the nonslip tape work? I could use some more advice.

    • @hcdigitalart
      @hcdigitalart  2 года назад

      No I still have issues with it, but now I just put the 48 sportster on it, which is a little better because of the weight. But I still have issues with the levers also, like if I put one down the other end pops up, frustrating so much that I was going to get rid of it, but like I said I just use the small bike now, I'll deal with it. Sorry, no updates on this...

    I have the same dolly from HF, same motorcycle, does your kickstand hits the outboard side of that tray? Mine goes up against it and it give me the feeling that the kickstand isn't secured.

      Yes, mine does also, I was actually thinking about cutting into it for modifications, but trust me, so far it's good. I always double check and make sure everything is aligned. I was the same, concerned......

    Same problem of levers tipping up to rolling mode...2 easy solution 1 difficult solution:
    1) cut a 1/2" piece of either 8' or 10' stick of gray elect. sch 80(?) or white pvc irrigation (sch d) plastic pipe in half . Stick these into the ends of the levers and the weight of the 4 feet of pipe will keep levers from flipping up. Stick them next to tires in tray for storage until next ride and prob solved prob solve $3.
    2) more compact solution - go to big box ($7) or friendly Ace ($12) hardware store to irrigation dept: buy:
    You can either buy a 8' stick of pvc and use non threaded fittings but you'll need a pvc cutter or hacksaw or 4- 1/2" threaded pvc couplers - (gray or white is less $)
    4- 1/2" x 6" pvc threaded nipples
    2- 1/2" 90 degree male /female fitting.
    6- small weighted barbell weights for dumbbells you have used in years ...I used four 1 1/4 lb & two 2 1/2 lb.;
    Don't have old steel barbell weights..Craiglist or offer up a huge 110 lb set Set for less than $10 and bring the rest to the goodwill or give it to the13yr old 8th grade kid down the street getting ready for HS sports.
    Assembly time: Screw parts together in this order...nipple / coupling / nipple / 90 degree female / 3 barbells / coupling to male threaded side to hold barbells in place...wa la - Sliide this contraption over the you have a simple weight to put on the lever to keep it in the down non rolling position.
    3) drill some holes and mount a small barrel slide bolt to keep lever in place - this requires photos so go back to # 1 or #2 KISS keep it simple smartypants

    For any that may have thought about going a little bigger on the wheels and wheels with locks. let me know where you found them. I found some at at Menards, however I would have to bore all of the holes out on each of the wheel plates and the wheels would not rotate all the way around. :-( I have always tried some door stops under the front and rear wheels. They collapsed. I thought this was a good idea to buy three of them for each bike. Wasn't able to put the stop pins in on each end because of the length of the bike. Not good for a custom low profile bike. It was a bear to get this on without moving. The wheels... To me, they don't roll very good at all .
