4th February 1973 - 4th February 2023 50th Anniversary of the closure of the Alton to Winchester line, now the Watercress Line.

I can remember my dad taking me on a ride from Fareham to Winchester then Arlesford and back a couple of days before closure. I still have the ticket!

I also made a video on my RUclips channel of the Thumper heading into Alresford to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the closure of the Watercress Line. In fact, you can see me at 8:58 standing next to my father, admiring this moment.

This should still be part of the London metropolitan services. It is ridiculous this line closed. I cannot see how this is unviable in 2022. The development between central London and Southampton along this route is considerable now and increasing. This was a bone-headed decision.
