Freedom of speech does have some limit. She also is free to defend herself within those same limits. Your criticism of her doesn't hold water. You and I probably agree that non white groups seem overly sensitive about things such as this. I have a hard time seeing any offense in the cartoon. But I have also never been subjected to racial epithets, let alone physical assault, as I walked down the street minding my own business. There is an old saying, don't criticize someone until you have walked a mile in their shoes. The daily news people were insensitive in their printing of this cartoon.

NYC needs to elect Andrew Yang - Yang and his lovey and extraordinary wife and family are a major asset for our great City! Yang has such a big heart and he has a brilliant mind - along with an amazing background and a ton of hands-on experience in managing complex issues. The publicing cartoon people are just a bunch of un-educated, ignorants who just focus on the skin deep looks versus the person's personality and values: Put a blondy blue eyes German to grow up in China and he would think, act like Chinese. To my upbringing in Europe (France), the Yang are pretty much typical Americans, so are many Latin-looking or African-looking citizens. Many Anglo-Amercian tourists thought Europeans who "looked" like them would relate to them more learned a hard lesson. We French think and act totally different from most of them, and that was where the culture shock came into! Don't just focus on looks! Most uneducated, country people in Asia or Europe focus on that same thing. It does told us something about the charactere of the people in that country doesn't it?!?
I do think that the cartoon is racist. Just look at the big nose round eyes of “real” New Yorkers. Who do you think they are? They’re me. I’m voting for the man. I don't think everything is racism, but I have a pretty good idea something is racist when I experienced or see it. I think many racialized people have that sense of ability. Sadly, this "cartoon" episode on Andrew Yang once again confirm to us that prejudice and racism against Asians is still seen as permissible in Western countries, including the USA. The editor and the cartoonist of that newspaper knew exactly what they're doing when they published that cartoon. It casually played on Asian's stereotype that we will never belong, that othering, that we don't deserve to be treated as equal or as normal human beings. Not all Asians are the same and all races should be treated equally.
