    The Government knows they can't get money from the Squatter. So they get it from the Landlord. The longer the squatter stays the more money the city makes.

      Sounds like the city wants to foreclose on the property for their own profit. How can the land afford major fines, repair the damage the squatters caused will depriving the landlord any income to run the building.

    Good tenants suffered too living next to criminals. New tenants stuck in line for 3 years waiting for this unit. Courts should never be closed because people deserve due process .

    That's exactly what it is. They want the good landlords to sell to slumlords and like guy in this video said: the end result of this type of court action and laws is not good for tenants. Not good for your average person being a good property owner, its only good for the incorporated city and whoever buys the property to be a slumlord. Stuff has got to change.

    This is outrageous, how is this happening in your city? And why do some people feel they can occupy a property without paying rent, I'm guessing the owner still had a mortgage? There is something very wrong with a system that lets them get away with it.

    Any NY or Cali landlords who are tired of these shenanigans can invest where I live in Springfield, MO. We had our courts open and evictions proceeding in May 2020 ... less than 3 months after the Covid lockdown. Our judges were still very strict about tenants meeting the moratorium criteria, and almost no tenant qualified under all the conditions, so they got booted.

    There is someone in my apartment right now who won't leave, and I'm on the couch. It is literally required by law that I can only file for court until the end of the next month. These tenant protections are doing the opposite for us. You're all talking about landlords... You should center this on tenants more, it would be in all our favor.

      @@Anglynn74 Do you really think it will be any easier for tenants once THE GOVERNMENT becomes your landlord???? Had you ever been a property owner, you would know what happens when you are a mere one day late paying your property taxes or violate some code.

    • @Anglynn74
      @Anglynn74 Год назад

      @@truthbknwn I bought my house in 2005, good job making assumptions, I also took on and sued my mortgage company in court and won as well as sued the bank's attorney and won. I know more about home ownership and mortgage and taxes than I care to know. If you're ONE day late paying your taxes, NOTHING happens, the only time anything happens is when someone is severely late, as in months and even then foreclosures don't happen that quickly, it can take YEARS for a property to go to sale, anyone telling you the opposite is pissing down your back buddy. If the owner has escrow and the taxes are due then the BANK pays the property taxes, banks will ALWAYS do this to protect their interests, they don't tell the homeowner this, it's not in their rider or the actual mortgage, but they do, all of them do. Every state, every county, has programs galore to help and assist homeowners with property tax payments, there's an abundance of programs out there for both prop taxes and mortgages without escrow. If you want to talk escrow or taxes or mortgage fine, but don't blow smoke up my ass, I'm not some unsuspecting naive renter, all you'd be achieving is digging a hole for yourself.
