🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂oh my god MIc. The moment you got that rubber seal on the pedal, You shoild see your face. I lay flat down on my couch....Had ttummy pain from lauthing. I realy can see the progress now. And all those little parts you have to install keeps you buisy for al whie. I think you don't have to be afraid to talk about your paint with "Big boudha". That is the name I gave the painter. The way he reacts in the video's makes me think this is aman with a open heart and mind. He realy did a goood job about the painting your Kona. Hopefully he wil get the right accent in blue for the both of you. I give respons on a regular bases and still love to do that. Every time there is a new episode I gave you a big thumbs up. The guy who visit you from the Netherlands, looked me formiliar. I am from the Netherlands too, as I told you before. But I also can understand that you do not remember al those subscribers. I hope you remember me as I always end my message with:" Sincerely Bert from the Netherlands". We subscribers, making a part of this build by giving you a high rate if you know what I mean, And I love to help you this way. You and lori are my favorite youtubers and the goonzquad boys. You still are number one for me. No fixing video's but truly as it is. Exelent filming and editing, choise of music...ect ect. Oke enough for today. Your bus will be a monumental piece of art, building from scratch to work of love and understanding. Kona deserve you as a owner. Sincelerely, Bert from the Netherlands
Best restoration by far
Thank you so much 🙏🏼😎
I’m glad he re did the line, I was shouting at the TV, it’s not straight!! 😂
I think the paint job is beeeautifuuul😍
🤙🏼❤️
the color looks great! enough with drama!
Thanks! Well that shop people are awful 😆
It looks stunning guys !!
That paint is probably only one shade out , you’ll wait all the extra time to get it redone and it won’t look any different in real life only up against your paint test sample ,
I love the Blue, hope you kept it!
😅
Ive had work done as Skinner's and had my long panel replaced by the same body man as Mic, I wish I could say I was pleased, I gave them a new "funky green" long panel and when it was done (6 months later) it was all warped from pushing the panel in to make it fit everywhere instead of fixing what actually was causing the mis fitment. Took a LOT of body work to smooth out the panel after paying a ton.
Mic color is almost the same as mine but I used the Porsche Miami Blu and its stunning, I think this was what Mic was actually looking for. His bus does look good , Ive seen it in the shop being working on two years ago.
Nice cowboy boots bus looks good
The colour looks fantastic to me, but I totally understand the issue if it’s not exactly what you were planning on. You’ve put so much time and effort into this that you want it to be perfect.
If he was going for the factory Turkis, it is miles off but dead on for 80’s surf bus. If it is any consolation, that hue of turquoise, sells like hot cakes at any auction. Impulse buy turquoise, I call it.
That’s what I thought as well, first time seeing the channel, when I noticed it was episode 64 I also thought if I’d put that much time and effort into the build I’d want it perfect as well. As for the interior a nice tan or combination of coffee and light tan would look nice against that blue and white
bravo ..all team
thanx for good music
Thanks! I will let Lori know 😄👍🏼❤
It looks great.
Mahalo!
The color of paint It is great the impontance That is painted and Beautiful is not easy to choose a color of paint is not necessary to fight for a color of paint if That is beautiful and ojola see it finished greetings from Santiago de Chile
a perfect color match
Very very beatyful
Top
Thank you!
I like that color because it's different. No one else will have one like it.
The blue is magnificent, a galloping horse will pass it by!!! Pick your battles, let it go. Life’s to short.
I don't know anything about cars but i love watching your restoration videos! I love that you show every detail. People are impatient and want to see immediately the results. The art is in the detail! Once you're done with Kona I'll be happy for you but sad that it's over! This is my favorite RUclips series!
Thank you so much! Stoked you enjoy the details as well 😁🙌🏼
I love the color❤❤
😄🙏🏼
Youre so underrated dude keep up the good job!
Appreciate it! 😊
Great to see kona finally painted 😊

Hii name is vijay i a
Mfrom uk and like your video
I have never watched a series of videos this long, but have been a vw fan since childhood, at 73 this most satisfying. Great job by all who have been involved in this transformation Truly a dream come true
Yes, you can see how much work it is to restore a bus even when you have pro's like Skinner customs involved. And this bus has a lot of upgrades that make it very unique. Mitch great job, fighting for your dream and all of the sacrifices you and Lori made to make it happen!....if it was easy everyone would be doing it.
@brendacreasy7726 thank you 🙏🏼 😊
@@jimrowland6622fighting till the end ! 👊🏼😊
🙌🏻… congratulations…
🥳
I thought the color was beautiful, but it’s not mine it’s yours. I could see all the time you’ve put into this it would make a difference. Love what you do and thanks for sharing.♥️👍🏼
Appreciate your comment ! ☺
Watching from the Philippines bro🇵🇭
Awesome!! 😄🤙🏼
Hi Mitch and Lori. Kona looks so good! I'm a perfectionist and I completely understand your angst with the paint colour... I agonised over colour choice with one of my projects...in the end I went with an OEM colour of the period. It looked amazing but was a slightly darker red than I wanted and I had periods when I thought it's just not quite right. In the end I left it as is and once I had fitted all the trim and bling, I'd moved on. That said, you do you! Every time you walk up to Kona is should make you smile. You don't want to be thinking "the colour's wrong!". You're doing an amazing job and a detailed account of the entire process. Carry on! 🤟
I'm a pragmatist so I'd say, ignore the 1 promille off shade on the blue colour, colour doesn't drive anyway!!!
Absolutely love the paint job! Kona is looking fantastic! I understand your pain with the paint, waiting to see how it gets fixed. Loving the process and each episode. Don’t worry about the negative comments, those who know the painstaking process of what you’re doing and how you are presenting it, appreciate it. Can’t wait for next ep 🤙🏻
Thank you so much! Yeah I don't take these negative comments seriously... , they don't know what really going on 100% at the shop and situation... so exhausted haha... I will answer in Q&A in the future :) Thanks for the comment 🤙🏼🙌🏼😄
Good Job Sir
Mahalo!
It took me 2 years and 10 car shows to pick my color for my bus restoration. It happened when I saw a porsche 911 getting on the freeway and that was it! Miami Blu!! Then I saw a Truck at SEMA painted with the same color and I was hooked.
Wow two years!! Me... hmm I think two weeks haha with help by my wife Lori... important decision since we both own it :)
AWESOME ❤🎉
Thanks 🤗
To get to watch craftsmen apply their skill and talent….I’m in!
The color is gorgeous, it suits him so much, I'm from the Czech Republic and I won't let a single video go by
Gutted that you was stress out over the blue colour! I think its look stunning! look forward for the next episode! thanks for enjoying my Friday night with your new episode today :) Sexy Kona !
color looks good to me.
color is great.
Thanks!
Nice detailed videos but I hope we will see the final results by the end of 2023!
Lubrication !
on what?
Absolutely beautiful 👍
Thanks Peter!
Bus look good so pretty perfect colors so dont have to waste re paint again but your bus look perfect look fine ❤🤙👌
Man i love that blue color. No need to change
I also struggled to see my bus with new paint. Mainly because I was so used to the old color. Now I love it. If you feel like repaint, may do a sample on bigger piece than this one you‘ve got. It never looks the same on a tiny sample and finished paintjob. Thanks for letting us follow your project!
That blue and white color combo is amazing! Love it!! Great job, looking forward to seeing the finished van 👍
You and me both!
Lekker hoor die stroopwafels. 🇳🇱
Honest, I like your color looks fantastic and beautiful no problem with me. It is a beautiful bright color so nice!
I took more than a week to reached this episode.
Whatever they said about I'm so enjoyed to watched the videos from the beginning. Now I can doing my own in a wright way with the wright tools and also in a very good discipline. I love those naughty things you joking with Alex 😂😂😂
I'm quite happy that you are saved from Mauwi disaster don't ya..? Keep me following you guys for the next dream on... Bye.. ❤
I always watch your vlog. I may not always leave comments, but I'm constantly impressed by your work and other projects. The VW bus project, in particular, is absolutely amazing. I really love the color you chose for it. Once it's completely done, I'm sure everyone will want to buy a VW bus just like it. :)
Keep up the great
Thank you ! 😄
I've been watching this episode 50 and I think the Van is beautiful keep up the good work❤
Thank you so much!
It looks good to me, but its your decision. Good luck!!
🤙🏼🤙🏼
Mitch, I feel your frustration with second guessing of the paint color. But you are the one that needs to be happy in the end. It's something that you'll be looking at for many years. Gotta do what makes you happy. But, that said Kona is looking so great. What a great series you've created. THANKS.
Exactly. Thank you so much! 💙
What ever you too decide to do Kona is looking awesome can't wait to see it all done thanks.
Crazy to see her painted !🤯
Kona looks awesome with this colour!
Mitch, what if the repaint looks one shade darker than the card???
Before the paintjob you should have thrown away the card. Than you would be happy now.
All the best for the new decision of colour. 🍀🙏🍀
wonderful👋👋👋👋👋👋
Mahalo!
Love the colors
Don’t stress
Thank James
I really like the color combo.
Mitch, This Blue looks really good, I know you had your heart set on another probably ONE shade different BUT Mate its only one shade out !! I think you need to Relax and be very proud of what its turned out to be, Kona is looking smick Well done !!
Love the colors! Wait til you put the trim and all the other stuff on. Just remember what it looked like when you got it and where it is now. The real fun starts now, putting all the parts back on. At least you have access to Robert's knowledge and a lift.
Peace ✌️
I will bet that you are excited to drive Kona when it is finished. You will just have to wait a little longer
I can't wait!
Colors look great
The color is beautiful like it is
Hey you two, the blue color is fine! It’s gorgeous! When you have every other accessory and necessity i stalled and hooked up and all the chrome is shining and it looks gorgeous and clean, it will look amazing. Even if it’s not what you originally pictured, it’s still a pristine one off bus that anybody would be proud to own. You could paint it shit brown and I would still take it! Don’t sweat the cosmetic/small stuff. Embrace it! You now have a better than new bus template from which to build on. Have fun! When you were unwrapping it after the paint booth, I assumed it was like unlocking the best birthday and/or Christmas gift ever. I am jealous.
“unwrapping” not unlocking. Stupid predictive text.
Great episode loving the way it's taking shape, the paint is not to your liking, can you live with it, only you can say, but your paying the money and want it spot on
This drama about this color should stop, it becomes really ridiculous. This blue is very beautiful, and with pearl white it is the perfect combo.
@@66skate I can't fathom the cost of this project. 64 episodes? And we're just in paint?
The blue and white combination color looks like the white and blue you see on cars from the 1950's. Volkswagen had a darket shade of blue on their split window busses. Mother had one that was darker blue and white. When she drove it there was always a lot of attention. People always wanted to buy it off of her all the time. She held on to it for over 27 years, and refused to sell. When she couldn't drive it anymore, she finally did let go of it. It is still on the road today, and I have seen it a few times now.
@@mattgreven7615 so it gets boring after a while.
@ericknoblauch9195 thanks for the explanation 👍
I understand your frustrations Mitch, you pay for a high quality job, then sit about waiting most of the time, it’s unfair, and to not get your colour right, is gutting. Hope they sorted it for you, can’t go wrong with the Buttys bits throttle pedal linkage either 😊
Thank you 🙏
To be continued??? Come on!!!
I like the blue color. Why change it? D.I.Y. is a learning experience. You doing good!
It's looking so good! Great job! That Buttys Bits throttle cable is one of the best upgrades. That along with the transmission roller they make are fantastic
just #64 and the colors looks great, Dont redo the blue paint. You will be driving inside the van only outsiders will see it. Cant wait til it is done
I love the video! You are cracks! The blue paint is fine but a little less bright and it will look very beautiful on you, like the sea and surf...
On video the colour looks amazing
For sure, it's hard to see correct color on computer vs in person... 🤙🏼
I like the blue color. It is unique to that model bus.
🤙🏼🤙🏼
Congratulations 🎉❤ finally 😅 youhooooooo yeah 😅
Thanks Juan!
todo un puzzle el armar el bus, saludos
I knew the colors chose and got it right. 🤠👍
😄🙌🏼🙌🏼
I love the color of it
🤙🏼🤙🏼❤️
Absolutely beautiful
Thank you so much!
Some of the biggest mistakes sometimes turn out the best results!! Like the paint !! Enjoy
Nice 👍 i find that really awesome
Glad to see Dom re-did the V. I could easily see how off it was and was having an anxiety attack that he was going to paint it and then get into a debate about how it will look right once the clear coat is applied 😛
@@66skateI’m not sure if Dom’s heart is in it. Several times he didn’t show up when he said he would and he kept debating about how the samples didn’t look right because they weren’t clear coated rather than just clear coating them in order to make an accurate comparison. Then he asked them if they wanted to keep “dicking around”. I can appreciate that this is a once in a lifetime project for Micbergsma and he wants it to the agreed upon color, etc. Not sure Dom appreciates how important the project is. Maybe not the best painter for the job. It’s a landmark effort being recorded for posterity. I do get the impression that Dom is annoyed. Too bad they’ve been unable to get on the same page.
Oh man yeah we both told him to re-do! It was scary to watch haha
Right! He had to agree to be in video because we are at the shop filming everything way long before he showed up...
Yeah Dom is already jerk... we were so awkward when he said "ducking around" it was unprofessional... more thing happened off the camera, you wouldn't believe it.... we wish we had Eddie do paint for us 😔
Looking good!! I love the gas pedal linkage upgrade!!
Thanks! That thing is amazing, I tested it out on a bus and got me sold!
This type of blue changes depending on the lighting; it's hard to form an opinion. Personally, I find it beautiful as it is, and if it's your initial idea, stick with it; it's always the best. With all the details and the assembly of all the pieces, you'll be very happy. Good luck with the rest.
Saludos de Mexico Mic
Que chulada!! Enhorabuena pareja,un trabajo de 10 sin duda 😊 precioso el color elegido,un saludo desde España 🇪🇸 amigo Kona
Fantastic video
Thanks! 😃
I love Kona!! But still thinking that will be awesome with an EV swap!!
no need to be redone about the paint it is the best i have ever seen ♥♥...
The paint is fine! It's all painted in the engine bay and underneath. The paint work is perfect. Bit late to change. Did you use an original VW paint code?
Here in Brazil, we call this blue panties blue. It turned out really nice.
Interesting! 🤙🏼
Love the colors, Van would look amazing in Hawaii or South Florida 👍
🤙🏼🤙🏼
Looks absolutely sensational huuuuuuuuge thumbs up lovely work guys love it 👍👌
Combinha 🎉 está ficando top das galáxias belo trabalho parabéns 😮
Mahalo ! 👍👍
keep up the good work
Thank you so much!
Amazing! 😍
Thank you! 😄
Like and love 💕 😊
Mahalo!
I fully understand your frustration about the paint when you spend a lot of $$$$ you want what you want!!
Right?!
I'm so curious to see how this pans out. And what do they do for you? Hmm
Nooice! 😎 STOC
Paint ALWAYS has to be right ! Not only the cost but, you plan to keep it for a very long time ! It makes or brakes the project get what you want !
Yes 100 % !
Hola micht, no te gusto el color? pero quedó bonito todos los pintores son iguales. Hacen lo que quieren. Espero con ansias el próximo capítulo. Ánimo 👋😆 éxitos en lo que resta para terminar tu bus.
Hope Kona & family survived the Maui fires, considering this was filmed in January 22. 🙏
We are all ok! Thank you for being concerned 💙
