Love the Garrison. I also prefer to carry 45 acp. I currently open carry a Glock 21 but i also have a very low serial # Colt Government that i can conceal but i don't very often. It was actually one of the 2500 sold to France in 1915 for WW1 and featured on the forgotten weapons channel several years ago. Passed down to me through a few generations. It's still a shooter.

My SA Garrison blue 5” 9mm goes with me to the range nearly every time and gets shot often. Wonderful tool. I really love it. I have put night sights on it but otherwise awesome out of the box.

I carry my Dan Wesson V-Bob Commander size in 45 ACP. Incredibly accurate, even for this 74 year old dude! I carry McCormick 10 round mags for my extra mags.

I don't like anything metal that will reflect light back in my eyes, but that gun looks awesome. I'd opt for the blued version in this case.

... Springfield 1911s have come along way from when they were introduced in the mid 80's, many people shunned them because the frames were being imported from Brazil, supposedly the frames were tough to do custom work on! Good job Springfield ...

As musch as I'd like a Dan Wesson Specialist my Garrison has really impressed me , just love everything about it and while I can pay more for a 1911 I'm confident bragging right cost a lot of extra money buts what we do ! 😎

I love Springfield. Don't get me wrong, but this is just a rinse and repeat of older models they already make. I guess they're taking a play from glock's playbook. Nice commander size 1911 but... just because you put night sights on it doesn't make it a "new" production.

Nice but it’s too big for concealed carry and 45 ammunition cost a fortune. I have a real world war 2 colt 45 that shoots like a new one I inherited from my dad..

I love Springfield Xdm and xds pistols....I even forgive them for their political mishap.....but good God, why do they keep making 1911 pistols? How many "new" 1911's can there be??? It's such an outdated gun design....I'd like to see them move on and focus on making things like their hell cat. That gun was revolutionary and I bet they can come up with more designs that change the industry!

I am sure to catch Hell on this…but a 1911 is a ridiculous carry option…and in 45acp it is ludicrous. I carry 45acp but in a Glock 30S. Better capacity, simple and dependable. Those are decent guns…but they should not be recommended for concealed carry.

@@TheFireArmGuy I for sure agree with you there. Longer barrel, super good trigger (better be on those +$1,500 guns) so hells yeah…pinpoint accuracy is better. But for every day carry? Like having a heavy, sharp cheese grater in your belt. 🧀😉

If this had a checkered front strap I'd be all over it.
I've shot a 1911 45 but I didn't care for it. The grip shape of the 1911's just don't fit my hand. If I'm going to carry a full size gun I will just carry my 1'st Generation Walther P99 9mm as it has better ergonomics and over twice the round capacity and is laser accurate along with being 100% reliable no matter what you feed it! 1911's are kind of an overpriced niche gun.

Just what we need yet another 1911 🤦🏻♂️ Springfield armory is making way too many 1911s I truly believe that the gun community as a whole has been the peak in firearm innovation, let me ask everyone here a question, what can can this 1911 do that other 1911s and/or other handguns can’t do already? Nothing, we’ve pretty much reached the point where it’s a buy what you like cause it’s gonna do the same thing as the next gun on the market.
