I have no clue how she does so many genres and yet is always unmistakably Angelina!
Just a 12 year old in her room.... making one of the most beautiful, respectful tributes I've ever heard in all my years.

I hope Carole King gets to hear this, because Aretha is looking down on Angelina with a beautiful heavenly smile.
The thing about Angelina is that when she covers a song...the first 2-3 notes I’m a little unsure...then by the 7-8th notes I’m totally sold. It’s HER song now and she’s taking me totally for the ride. How a kid of 12 or 13 years (in many songs much younger) can sell a song with the soul of a 30 year old well traveled jazz singer is absolutely beyond comprehension. But then that’s Angelina all right. Her depth of natural understanding for what the song is saying is stunning.
The multitude of colours she puts to her voice in this beautiful homage is mind blowing
No one has that kind of voice magic on earth.
This is one of my favorites. So much respect shown in such a young child.
The best rendition ever. Every word was so loaded with emotion, nobody did it ever so profoundly. A real heavy weight or the music industrie. A feeling for empathy was already felt deeply, when she gave her shoes to a girl, she did not even know. But immediately connected and she asked her, what she wanted to become in the future... What sort of child asks such a question, unless there is a deeply felt empathy.
What a beautiful rendition. She made this song her own as a gift to a legend.

STUNNING!! Almost every singer that covers this song tries to sing it like Aretha. And of course, that's very difficult to pull off. Angelina goes a totally different direction; more like the Carol King version, but with a jazzier interpretation. She slows it down, which she often does in her covers. And her tone, phrasing and use of negative space (pausing) is just terrific. Since this is her tribute to Aretha, instead of trademark smiling and waving at the end, she fades to black, honoring this solemn situation. Yet another great cover by Angelina. And your reaction was very real. I loved it.
Beautiful choice Jayy, this is Angelina's tribute to Aretha, after a few days of her death. She does it her way with low tones and slowed music, not in competition with Aretha's voice, but in her homage, reaffirms this respect for Aretha. All expressive forms that for an 12 year old girl are incredible.
Effortless perfection. A judge once said, "You ARE music!" And she was right. There is no genre or song that Angelina cannot perform brilliantly.

For the first time, I heard hint of Stacy Lattisaw in the vocals. Stacy is such great singer who I feel was under appreciated. Angelina really knows how to use what she has.

How could a young girl sing like that? She sings with a clear understanding of the meaning of the song -- and conveys it completely. It's not mere imitation or mimicry. She belongs in the same conversation with Ella, Billie, Aretha -- all of the jazz greats. Why isn't she appreciated even more, I wonder?

Hey, girl.....you haven't seen anything yet - I've been following Angelina Jordan for several years. Two of her other great songs (and my favorite) "Fly me to the Moon" (orig. by Frank Sinatra).
