The thing I always hate about the "We're actually lovers" plot is how the protagonist never simply asked the girl if that's true. They just sulk and walk off without saying anything. There are the ones where the "hero" is brainwashing the girl but usually it's just them saying BS to get the main character to leave. Use your words people!

They could have the rest of the party die because of very high level monsters, they could have the MC choose to leave the party in good terms, they could have the MC blackmailed into leave the party, they could have the MC actually mess up and get excluded, they could have the MC simply disagree with the party and leave. But no, it's always "MC is OP but rest of the party think MC is weak and/or party leader is a jealous scum so they kick him". And the fucking harems... Just stop making harems! It's obvious and cringe.

I've read LOTS of manga and I think I can count on one hand those where the MC parted way with their party amicably. At least two of them have the party regularly visiting the 'retired' member to give him gifts/souvenirs or just reminisce about their time. This manga is not one of them, though.
