Coarse hair needs to Wolf period. Hard brush only. Wet brush every shower. Thick palmade on short hair often to keep hair in place so you can continue to curl it, you want to stretch your hair. Sort of like making the curly strings on balloons with a knife. Brush hard and often. 2 months hard, take it down a little, small baby afro, but never all off, enough to get the brush through. 247 durag cuz this stage ain't pretty. Do it until you can run your fingers through or by brush and you can feel the waves before you cut and start high, the moment you see waves stop cutting! Then do it all again, you should still have a lot of hair somewhat, not your final form, babyish fro with ripples. Full Cut early only set you back. Brush and wolf until you can't take it anymore. Wolf only work if you brush hard and often. If u neglect it becomes almost impossible to brush back, durag has matted the new growth and u fail.
Someone help but for 4 years I had braids and I cut them off two years ago and started to get waves my waves are fine and are in point but my headline Is kinda far back. No body else can really see but I can and I HATE IT!!! It's only been like this for about two months and I don't know if the braids pulled in my hair or if my barber just took me back but any tips would be nice. I remember coming here months ago to find out, get a good brush and keep brushing you do not even need products. Medium brush, moisturizer such as olive oil or argan oil. Every two- five days add moisturizer. keep brushing especially after a cut and do not wash hair. Sleep with durag and after your first haircut unless you been brushing a lot you will get waves. After my second haircut, i was using a fufu diane 8119 (was softer than a 8169) and i had waves everyone except on sides because sides had ripples and I wasnt even up to the point where i should cut my hair. I hav curly hair shoutout to all the curly hair bros.
What's up man! I couldn't find the Diane brushes nowhere so I got a wave enforcer 585, 552, and 544. Do you think those brushes are good enough to start my waves? Just cut off my dread locs and trying to get waved up.
I know the wav enforcer 544 is pretty good. You can get some goor progress with that one for sure. The others i have not tried so i cant say for sure Alfred Freeman

Recently I've been applying more time to the back and sides,but I see barely any progress(I brush the sides at an angle forward/downwards, back from crown down, top from crown forward. Is that correct?) I have very course hair and gotta fight to keep my hair not looking nappy throughout the day when my hair is grown out a bit. Do you recommend I brush at certain time while I'm at school? I've also gone about 3 weeks without a cut so I guess ill just wolf it out for some more weeks. how to get waves. if you have hard hair damp hair and apply wave products. brush the product in the pattern that you want your waves, use durag. wolf hair for atleast two months. get cut and you will have waves

FJSI 23 If you like the product, use it. Just know that it wont get you waves. No product will get you waves. They only make the waves you already have look better. The only thing good for waves is brushing. Make sure you brush everyday and you'll be spinning in no time

Hey Sam Taime You don't need a rag to get waves. All you need is a brush. IF you have a brush and you brush your hair every day, you will be able to get waves. All you need to get waves is a brush, all the other things just help you get waves faster.

No texturizing. Use hot/warm water and then brush you hair until it is dry.
