The graphic showing what the race results would mean for the overall standings was very helpful :) Sad that the event is over, but excited for next year :)
Regardless of who wins today, i just want to take my time to thank Jelle for another amazing year of Marble League. You put so much efforts into this yearly project and we really enjoy it to the fullest , your production keeps improving from time to time. Even if we are living under a pandemic but you still give your best to let us cheer for our favourite teams. Thank you and lets do it again next year
My daughter adores the Marble Leagues and was on the edge of her seat as her beloved Green Ducks went from first to 11th in tonight's race... But then the announcement that they will be the HOSTS of the next league brought the happy tears! Thank you for bringing so much excitement to our family
In that brief moment where we were in first place, i screamed so loud that my dad came into my room asking whats going on and i had a hard time explaining that i got so exited because my marble was winning😬 i just hope we dont get hit by the hometeam curse
@@kronos8783 I'm 20 years old and i just love this. I also support the Green Ducks so i also was sad they lost podium. but they will be there next year to stop the hosts curse.
As a mellow yellow fan, this marble league was a roller coaster for me. There was a point where I felt like we were completely out of it and then we vaulted up into the top three out of nowhere. This was such a fun series to watch and it’s my first time watching through since the marblympics. I’ll be back next year for sure
Hazers and Raspberry Racers really choked in the last event, it was theirs for the taking and they couldn't handle the pressure. Mellow Yellow stepped up and put in a champion's performance right when it mattered.
A hard year, as a Momo fan, but I'm genuinely impressed by Mellow Yellow's performance. From one underdog fan to another, congratulations to Mellow Yellow and their fans.
Looking at those statistics at the end, makes me want to know happened to Momo between events 7 and 8. You guys had it almost locked up, until everything just fell apart. Drama in the Momo locker room, maybe?
I’m catching up on past seasons. I’m a lifelong O’rangers fan who was very happy with the 2nd place finish in 2020. It was while watching that season that Mellow Yellow became my 2nd team…they showed flashes of great talent in amongst an otherwise disastrous campaign, which had me thinking they could climb to the top 1/3 of the table if they could become a little more consistent. I never imagined that they could become champions so quickly (while still showing some trademark wild inconsistency…two 16th place events!). 2021 was a fantastic season (outside of some questionable adjudication that led to Cat’s Eyes being DQ’d from the one event).
another momo fan here rewatching, cause these past 2 years havent been to great, that fight for third place at the end was thrilling so sad we werent able to clutch
They did our team dirty man... I'm not hating the marble league... But the way they start second from last because they're the second team in overall standing is really unfair for me... There's a lot to bargain if you're dead last from the beginning... Except it's sand rally... Not really a fan for this finale... We got rob..
Yeah, on such a short, straight, uneventful track starting near the back was a death sentence. I think they screwed the Hazers a few times this year. They needed to run time trials for placements more often, too many events this year just went based on standings order
Seeing my Green Ducks stay at 11th after a mistake taken on the conveyer belt was sad, but knowing they are hosting ML-2022 is well worth it! #QUACKATTACK
With Crazy Cats Eye beating the host curse, I think your Green Ducks will have just as good or maybe even better results for next years event. Probably going to see them flying the V a few times. Looking forward to next year too as a Mellow Yellow fan.
I know everybody's hyped for the final standings, but as a Minty Maniacs fan seeing our team win a medal and gold in that was the highlight of my Marble League. #MintCondition
Congrats! That was a hard earned first place for you and the Minty Maniacs. Thought Yellup had it but excited to see a thrilling conclusion to this years events. #KeepItMellow
After the rough go at both Marbula 1 last Season and this year's Marble League after auto-qualifying, this was so satisfying. I don't care that it only pushed them one up in the standings, the Minty Maniacs just redeemed themselves and are once again the best team. #MintCondition
Well, as a Rasperry AND Minty supporter, I am kind of p... about it. It's like they handed the Minty's a medal for doing so badly while sabotaging the Rasberries for doing so well. It feels like an empty medal.
Good to see O'Rangers and Minty Maniacs with some last-minute hustle, especially finally seeing the Minties grab a medal after they were so impressive in last year's league. Also, I can only imagine all the math that had to be done in order to keep the medal highlighting during the event accurate! It's insanely appreciated! All in all, thank you to everyone on the Jelle team for an amazing Marble League! Can't wait until we do it all again next year!
Crazy Cats Eyes, thank you. You showed guts, resilience, a fierce competitive spirit, and gave hope. I’m used to us starting out well and then crashing, but you showed that even when we’re at our lowest, we can still climb back up. You were fantastic hosts and I cant wait to see what you do next. Forever #EyesOnThePrize
Yes I thought the same, I was craving for them to get at least 1 medal and they did it!! 🥇 Minty Fresh won this one just like the marbula track last year!
The Glaciers had an astonishing run! After two false starts from their previous lineup attempting to get into the League, they show up YEARS later with a new set of completely untested players to squeeze into the 2021 games... and proceed to shatter everyone's expectations. I hope to see great things from them in the coming years. Hell of a way to finally start their career!
beware i really like the glaciers but since they placed 3rd they may fall for the 3rd place curse like the bolts, maniacs and oceanics (and the yellows to a lesser extent)
I've been watching JMR since 2019. Every Marble League delivers an exceptional production especially the minor details! Can't wait for the next Marbula One to come! Edit: That animation, changing the team logos into their respective medals (Bronze, Silver, and Gold) is also something that I love! Those minor details are just mesmerizing!
As a Racers fan, I feel our team got hard done by the league with those starting positions. Also, Razzy, what the heck? Gg to all and congrat to Mellow Yellow fans
@@ianmoore2351 I'll have to check again, but I don't remember seeing the (C). Anyway, dissapointed with the way the race went, but hey, that's the sport!
I mean... Im eating sour raspberries for sure. But MY started in 14th, 19 points back, and finished third. So I cant really fault the start, Racers had a bad day at the track
@@JesusIzAPunkRocker a team should never be penalized for doing better up to that point. Either the starting grid should been set up differently, had a random draw, or best-case qualifying laps.
Crazy Cats Eyes went through a horrible first entire half of the marble league (excluding the third event gold) and the questionably unfair disqualification in the Marathon, and still managed to pull through and secure 5th place. They're never dead until the very end! #EYESONTHEPRIZE
Not gonna lie, the second half of this season was absolutely devastating to watch as a Momo fan... but hopefully they will use this experience to do better next year. Congrats to Mellow Yellow - I do like seeing underdog teams win.
I can't believe it. Being a MY fan has had some real lows over the past couple years, but they actually somehow pulled it off. Marble League Champions. I'm speechless. 🏆🏆🏆
I can't believe Mellow Yellow actually did it, I'm so happy I get to see my favourite team win the whole league after such amazing performance with amazing amount of medals in total 💛💛💛
I normally supported the Snowballs or Oceanics the most, so when neither of them qualified for the Marble League, I decided the Gliding Glaciers best represented those qualities. Halfway through the League they were near the bottom and all seemed hopeless, but then it was #GlideToGlory time and they miraculously shot up the standings to achieve a bronze. What a run, what an event.
I am a Midnight Wisps fan myself and was also feeling the Glacier groove. Was very happy to start seeing good performances in the last half of the season
Heartbreaking end after a strong overall showing by the Hazers. Misty gives me hope for the future of this team with Hazy’s recent inconsistency, and I know we’ll get the gold next year!
Maybe it's just me, but it seems like the Hazers were trying to shake things up this year, and were putting teammates into events where they were, at best, untested. We all know Smoggy should have been running this course, not Hazy. Even still, it was a strong showing by the Hazers this year. They may not have taken that chamion's podium, but they picked up a *lot* of medals this year, and, almost more importantly, we found out Misty has some competition strengths we didn't know about. Next year is gonna be awesome :D #HazeAmaze
It's not all bad. In 4th overall, I think we auto-qualify next year and can skip the qualifying rounds, so that'll be nice. Tied for most medals, MVM... we keep proving we're real competitors, and one year we'll win it all. #HazeAmaze !
Chuffed for Misty as MVM though! Foggy had some issues in two early races (possibly the Twisties?) so I’m glad they didn’t put Foggy in the Marblocross. Hazers is a solid bronze-medal finisher! Woo!
Agreed. Hazy was trying to get back in contact with the main group early on, but a couple of hard blocks clearly killed belief in an overall podium. Very harsh to start the overall standing leaders last when the points were so close, when good positioning in the very first turn is so critical.
Way to go Gliding Glaciers, in a total of 3 events you managed to go from 12th to 3rd, incredibly well done! And also thanks for this amazing series Team Jelle.
@@z-beeblebrox Same. As a Gliding Glaciers fan I was disheartened, but they really are great at sliding into good spots at the end of things. What a way to finish!
Hell yeah! Rojo Rollers did good. Sad they placed last overall. And sad Indigo Stars got 13th after being in the middle of the standings for most of the tournament
It was a bad performance by them. The reverse starting order didn't help, but they probably would have choked regardless. I say this as a Hazers fan. They really have a 50:50 performance ratio.
The ordering for the final event sux. But nonetheless the hazers put up a poor performance. Still hazemaze, but man, that was too much of an uphill battle
My heart dropped when I saw the marbles lined up in reverse order. Knew it was gonna be a disappointing day for the Hazers. This one hurts. Wish they could have lined them all up on the same start line and let them jostle for position.
or do an off screen qualifier. They would have no reason to lie about something like that, and it would be better than the reverse order. Or do on on screen. OR do champ order.
I don’t buy that excuse honestly, considering that we have had teams make great climbs from the back row regardless of the starting order. Look at Speedy last year during the Marathon placement race. He started dead last due to the reverse starting grid and after 5 laps went up start in 2nd Place. Hell even in the main Marathon race, Minty Fresh went from last place to winning the whole event. I think it’s a matter of training, endurance, and conditioning for these guys, especially one whose notorious for performing badly in event finales to choke away either a championship or the entire podium (ahem…Hazy).
They're completely different events, and if Minty Maniacs can come back from last to first two separate years in a row then there's no excuse for anyone else
@TheRailLeaguer Or even in this particular Marblocross, we’ve had some great climbs - most notably, _Yellup_ of all marbles started just one place ahead of Hazy and finished in third (after, like, eight consecutive laps of leading). Also Red Eye and Alpine jumped up five and seven spots respectively (also worth mentioning that Alpine started in 13th, which also isn’t far off from where Hazy started).
I've just rewatched, and I want to give a THANK YOU to the entire JMR team for all the hard work you put into this video and ALL of them -- for the graphics, the animations, and particularly the MUSIC in this video! BIG SHOUT-OUT to MYKOS FYLAKTOS and the a capella choir! When those a capella voices started in right before the start of the race (around 1:20), I got goosebumps! And then again when it started up again right before the end and came to its big climax. Finally, the music and singing during the closing ceremony (particularly the bit when the teams line up) almost moved me to tears. Thank you!
While I'm salty about the starting order as a Raspberry Racers fan, I just want to say thank you all for all you do with these. They have amazing production value for something like marbles, and I look foreward to watching every time I see the notification pop up. Thank you for all you do! #RASPBERRYROBUST2022
Starting in reverse championship order seems like a strange choice, especially in an event where it's more difficult than it looks to pass. These kinds of events are our kryptonite though. Luckily I heard there's a young marble in the pipeline, Raz, who's specialty is track events like this.
According to the description, "The marbles will start in reverse order compared to the standings after E15, to give all marbles a chance to win". "If we do a "normal" grid (leader on pole), this has a high risk of a runaway leader with a big margin which will make the race less interesting." Red Number 3 will cry knowing this. Pure domination 2018 SMR.
Been a Mellow Yellow super fan since 2019 and this has meant the world to me 💖 So proud of them and thank you so much Jelle for the years of enjoyment.
It feels so good to be a Mellow Yellow Fan today! We havn't seen this kind of success in a long time, and sticking with the team hasn't always been easy, but i've never been prouder. #KeepItMellow
Definitely would prefer a qualifier round for this event next year. Maybe we don't even need to see the qualifier, but just to know there was one would help? (And yes, I read the description. Looking forward to next year already!)
As much as i love these races, the fact that there was no qualifier killed the raspberries today. With this beeing the tightest marble league ever, leading before the last event was a CLEAR disadvantage today.
I don't think it would have made much of a difference to have a placement race since placement races start in reverse order anyway. At the end of 5 laps rr were in 15th and hazers in 16th and that's the positions they would have started in had there been a placement race.
Man... I wish that there was going to be a full winter marble league... Those were usually just as good as the summer ones. I really hope Jelle brings them back one day.
We considered to do a winter ML in 2022, but we faced some logistic issues and the production of it during December will cause a lot of stress and pressure. We can consider it in the future (2023 or beyond) to start producing it far in advance. We now will focus in making "regular" marble runs.
@@JellesMarbleRuns Definitely giving yourself time is best. Your real fans will always wait patiently for something like that and appreciate all you put into it. Perhaps winter themed leagues could be either special events or kept for when a winter-themed team hosts?
@@JellesMarbleRuns Absolutely and we understand. I do hope that its something you keep in the back of your mind, because having two different leagues each year was really great.
Hmmm... Maybe you should partner up with snow world, a indoor ski slope and then you'll be able to do the 2022 winter marble league. You did it for marble rally race 7 & 8 and you should do it again for the WML!
I discovered Jelle’s Marble League only about a month or so ago, when I was sick in bed watching RUclips here and it somehow made its way into my suggested videos. I’m so invested now, and can’t wait to see more. Thanks for making these, hope to support the league soon for the 2022 season.
As an O'Ranger supporter this was such an intense race to watch! There was no chance of a podium finish in the overall rankings but we were still very much gunning to finish as high as possible. I feel like, if this event was to be run again, there should be a hot lap qualifier to determine the grid. With it this close mathematically, it shouldn't have been left to a reverse grid start. Raspberry Racers and Hazers got screwed the hardest. Congrats to Mellow Yellow, though. Good fights and best of luck to all next ML!
if that was truly the case then mellow yellow shouldnt have been able to get 3rd. at the end of the day it comes down to whether the marbles wanted it more or not and mellow yellow wanted it
Exactly right. Why would you get worse starting position in finale, if you've been best before that, reverse order would have been fair...or as you said, qualifier for starting grid.
Theoretically you're right, but if you look at it, Gliding glaciers & MY getting this high, RR still getting silver etc., your argument doesn't really hold up.
@@rutgerniemeijer MY was not in the back row. RR at one point were going to win gold even from last place. Hazers were hosed by this decision. Even Jelle admitted it was a bad choice. Saying it wasn’t is ignoring the obvious.
Hell of a run from Red Eye and CCE, tied for 4th points and a 5th overall finish!! The minimum 8point loss from the triathlon disqualification cost them a podium, that’s sickening
No, it was 9 points at a minimum and a median of 12.5 points when considering Raspberry Racers and Mellow Yellow scored under 8 points in the triathlon. Really such a weird decision and probably caused them to lose not only a podium spot but the gold for the whole Marble League.
Well, you beat the top two in the standings as of the previous episode (Racers and Hazers) and the Speeders. Putting it like that makes the Limers sound good XD
Lap 9 the Green Ducks were provisional gold medalists. Then they had the slip up on the conveyer belt and it completely fell apart. Back down to an 8th place finish and 11th place overall. But 2022 hosts is an EXCITING consolation prize! #QuackAttack
The Ducks had speed in ML2021 but showed signs of wearing out early in a few events. I hope they train hard in the off-season and focus on endurance. Being hosts in 2022, I don't want to see them quack under pressure. Go Green Ducks!
Was always going to be tough for the Raspberry Racers with their struggles in Marbula One style events and having to start at the back but congrats to the team on a well earned silver medal, we'll be back for that gold next year! #RaspberryRobust
There was an amusing point when they were actually in dead last (rather than their 15th place finish), but the rest of the field was such that they would have Still won the entire league if that was where it had ended. Too bad there were several laps left and that changed.
The Closing Ceremony always makes me a little sad because it’s like the end of a little world. No matter who wins, this has been a great ride and I’m looking forward to next year (and everything in between!). Thank you for creating this nice little world! #MomoStrong
Spoilers: Being on the final section of the starting block was rough for the Hazers and Raspberry Racers. They got bumped away from the pack going around the first turn and they were never really able to catch up
@@terrestrial9622 Also, if there was zero correlation to starting position why the heck is there a qualification race every time in marbula1? Have you seen those races?
Congratulations Mellow Yellow! I loved the closing ceremony! I also appreciate you Jelle and the rest of your team for giving us such amazing videos! I find them so entertaining and wholesome to watch!
There are definitely ways we can improve all of ML. There are some events with qualifying races or multiple heats, others with nothing at all. Just be consistent! I love ML and JMR, been here since the start, and I'm glad they're listening!

Such a deserving win for the team. Fought hard the whole tournament and what a final race. Rough start but then pass the whole field and taking a commanding lead. The last couple of laps had me quite nervous though #KeepItMellow
I feel like not enough people appreciate Minty Maniacs' win here. They were the only team without a medal coming into this event, and they finish strong with not just any medal, but a gold.
Well they got placed in the front.. not surprising that minty and orangers got to start in the front on the inside track and then went on to win first and second .. just look at 1:24
@@azimmeme9994 yup the two marbles in front on the inside track at the start of the race got first and second and the two marbles in the back at the start ended at the as the two last marbles.. Should’ve had a qualifier, kinda screwed the raspberry racers here
That race!!! OMG! Everyone is congratulating the marbles, but Greg Woods did a SUPERB job at calling the action yet again. I have been a fan of his commentary since he joined Jelles Marble Runs years ago (great work, Greg). Your calling the action raises the quality of this channel leaps and bounds above other competitive marble channels.
Why Bolt... Well, that's another year of heart-attacks in qualifying coming... But hey, you can't go wrong with finishing above O'Rangers and Savage Speeders ;)
Literally felt ill to my stomach watching Rizzy crawl through that race. Why, why, WHY did RaRa not run Rezzy there? All they needed was a decent run and they'd have taken the trophy. Rezzy would have been putting on a furious charge from the back. I believe that with every fiber of my being.
Rizzy did best he could with being penalized like they were. Don’t blame him or Hazy. This was on the organizers for intentionally penalizing the top teams.
I'm with ya. I knew Razzy was the wrong choice. Admittedly, Mellow Yellow did an impressive job going from 14th to 3rd during the race. It would be a lot to expect any marble to hold off that challenge, coming from 16th. But Razzy didn't even come close; they were out of the running most of the race. A big disappointment.
@@DogDyedKeyLimeGreen This created 'drama', making it less a sporting event, which should be fair, and more a reality tv event. Everyone can tell when things aren't fair. There is a reason sporting leagues bring in billions each year, and reality tv was a trend that has already run its course.
I’m so proud of Kinnowin’s performance here! Even though the ML podium was out of reach, they ran hard and smart during the race. Obviously disappointed at the O’s overall ML season, but I think we’ve still got a good team that can compete well in 2022 with some more training. Cheers Jelle for the entertainment!!!
I literally came into this race thinking that the ducks were eliminated. Then Greg said eleven teams could still win the marble league. Oh well. That would require everything to fall perfectly into place. Not happening. Then lap 7 came and the ducks lit up gold. I was on the edge of my seat for the main part of the race as victory appeared within grasp. What an amazing finish.
That hit on the escalator was heartbreaking. I was rooting for the Ducks and the Hazers expecting the latter being the only one having a chance to win it this event, and then that emotional rollercoaster happened.
What a disappointing season for the speeders. We were doing so well only to squander all of our good fortune in the end. I didn’t expect you to win the Marble League, but I certainly didn’t expect you to fall apart! This team needs to refocus during the off-season or I fear we’ll be in for more of the same next year. I do have hope though, you can never count us out. #SpeedIsKey
The ML was extremely close this year. If SS took the last event they would have won the whole thing, hell, you can say that pretty much about half the contestants. Sadly we were the weakest of the bunch this time. Very disappointing sure but we have a great track record.... Though I got to say if someone had said to me at the start of the League that we would be 12th and freaking Mellow Yellow would be the winner, all I could have said would have been: "Mellow Yellow made it to the League?!"
Personally I think these long race events need to have some sort of M1-style qualifier beforehand - the top two teams were forced to start at the back and they were never able to recover. But regardless, hearty congrats to Mellow Yellow - one of the most consistent performers (besides last year's aberration) finally gets their title.
@@Matt-ku6vu I moreso meant consistent over the years of the ML, not necessarily throughout this particular competition. They had very good finishes in 2016, 17, 18 and 19.
@@ThorHC11 As a Mellow Yellow fan, I hate to say it but we did not do well in 2018. However, this year puts us into 2nd/3rd greatest team of all time (it could go either way with the O’rangers, regardless the Speeders are the GOATs).
Wow countdown 28 minutes! 😃 Thank you very much Jelle and all in your team for this amazingly cool tournament, you keep succeeding in making it better and more interesting every time! And, hey, Greg, really, thank you for making us feel what goes on in the marble's round heads and adding lots of excitement!
Oh well, thunderbolts didn’t win. But I’m so proud of our team, we were so consistent and even tho we only had one medal but we were always hanging around top 10!
Yes, the thunderbolt is so consistent than any team, and bolt is bad in race should be thunder not bolt, but we did well, we hope we can win in 2022 marble league. In thunderbolt we trust
Mellow Yellow started 14th and still ended up being 1st for over half the race. Starting position might help but don't think it decides the race (Yellow proves that today). Over 22 laps they could have fought back !
@@Digital2Jack Right? I think the team took a look at the standings, decided any podium finish would be a good finish and just didn't put the effort into this race. A shame, too, because even just a few places up could have won it for them.
@@Digital2Jack The starting pack, middle pack and end of the pack were all decided after the first turn and Mellow Yellow got a good start, lucky you. It was still an unfair event, after the first turn it was pretty much decided how it would go and killed all the tension. Really bad finale.
One of the most nail-biting final events I've ever seen, I have no idea how you kept track of the provisional scoring but it must have been a logistical nightmare. Congratulations all around, you've put on a fantastic show!
Start of the Vid: You know CCE is absolutely SERIOUS when they field Red Eye like this. Halfway: Ok Red Eye. I know you're all about some risks, but please run a bit more seriously. End of race: Heartbreaking. Red Eye was so close to a podium, but just couldn't bring it home on that final lap. Still excellent outing from our current Marbula One champions, and the hosts of this year's Marble League. Major thanks to all of the Marble League officials and staff for running these events, and especially to the resplendently spherical and gloriously glossy Queen Cleocatra for hosting such a wonderful Marble League. Can't wait to see how the Ducks handle next year's event. Until then every just remember to keep your #EyesOnThePrize !
I've replied this in a few other comments but can't help repeating, you'll see they really wanted this race when you realize they dropped the soccer event to get a good starting position in this one. They could've won it all but ,alas, not meant to be.
Man, I was so happy when they didn't get the podium. Savage Speeders let me down, but at least CCE didn't manage anything good either. Also on the upside - Hazers managed to at least get 4th. Which is not great, but better than losing to CCE.
The addition of the live standings was fantastic. Added great info and made the drama jump out during the race. Jelle you had me on the edge of my seat!
Sad to see Savage Speeders drop so low, but a massive thank you to Jelle and the team. Your uploads always bring a smile to my face and help me to rekindle the innocent joy of childhood. Much love from Australia. ❤️ Also 9 points difference from 4th to 12th is crazy!! What a season!
I can't belive it's already the final event!!! Good luck to everyone (and every marble) and thank you Jelle and Greg for an awesome production. Truly wonderful. GOOOOOO STARS! #5Stars
It is not an unpopular opinion. There are lots in agreement with this. Cue a MY fan stating that Yellup came from the back (which he didn't, he came from second to last row) to win the ML for MY.
Its sad they keep injecting the MY scenario and the M1 where someone started at the back and win. They really didn't dig deep enough to find the root cause. Well, we can't blame them. Let's just keep reminding them that this is a circuit race and a qualifier is necessary here. Everyone will win regardless of grid position. Its the probability of winning that is really an issue. Try being a champion in a 16 event circuit race while always starting at the back and lets see.
Gotta hand it to Mellow Yellow, first ever Marble League Championship. Truly worthy opponents. #KeepitMellow Racers kept fighting though, got 1 point for 15th place, and still kept the silver. #ReturnoftheRacers
Sad that because of the DSQ, CCE wasn’t able to secure a podium position at the closing ceremony, they could have ended up as close second (1 point behind Mellow Yellow) or even first. Anyway, congratulations to Mellow Yellow and their fans!!! #EyesOnThePrize
Still have a lot of be proud of here. CCE isnt normally my go-to team but BOC have been down the drain as of late and I always thought CCE had a similar spirit. Was happy to root for them this year.

I'm so proud of the Glaciers! What a comeback year, hopefully this solidifies them as a team to watch out for in the future. Congrats to all the other teams for being excellent competition. Thanks to Jelle's team for making it all possible, see y'all next time. #GlidetoGlory
For next season, I believe there should be a qualifier with fastest time. Now I’ve seen your comment about adding the ceremony after the last race, with the reason being people might not watch it. Therefore I think the qualifier should be its own video, and the race/ceremony also its own video. Now this might not make for the longest video, so I’ve got some ideas about how you can make it longer 1. Let Greg do some post qualifying interviews - How do the teams feel going into the last event, with the qualifiers done. - How do the fans feel, and what are their predictions. - How are the coaches feeling about their teams performance this year. 2. Add more qualifying rounds - Let one marble from each team have 3 laps to set the quickest time. - Let every marble in each team set 1 lap and let the quickest from each team continue on to the race, to add a bit of competitiveness inside teams as well. 3. Show some entertainment from the hosting team. They can put up maybe a nice show to fill some time. 4. Polls Have fan answer polls throughout the season and show the results after qualifying Let me know what you think of these ideas, and if it might be applied :)
I hope there's a qualifier next year. Just seeing Rizzy have to start 16th felt like it was already over before the race started. But other than that the Marble League was a great time, thank you for putting this all together. You probably won't see this, but might I make a small suggestion? In events like the relay and 1mm (I think that's the length), the marbles aren't in direct competition with each other so instead of the top two from each heat, perhaps a more fair method of advancing would be: Top marble from each heat plus the four fastest times and then do an S-bracket for the semi-finals and have the top marble from each semi-final advance plus the two fastest times. With something like the sand marble rally, where the marbles collide with each other and jostle for position the top four from each heat feels fair enough to me since the marbles affect each other. Anyway, that's just my two cents, looking forward to next season!
Us Mellowers haven't had much to cheer about recently. I have been waiting five years for this moment, and the team finally won the big one. Put respect on our name. To Jelle and the crew: absolutely fantastic job this season as always. You always strive to improve and it shows through the effort you put into this world you have created. Big things in the future for you if you maintain momentum. ONTO THE NEXT!
Hazers have a good tradition of losing everything in the last race. Like in marbula one, when they wouldn't win only if they lose more than 10 positions to savage speeders in the last race and they freakin' done it! This time they needed to score 8 points more than raspberry racers to win the league (which is not so difficult since rizzy was at the very end), but they managed to finish dead last and not only gave away 1st place, but didn't take podium at all. That's some kind of talent.
This time wasn't their fault. The reverse starting order on a track like this purposefully penalized them. Not to mention stole the podium out from RR.
Just found this channel and as somebody who was a mellow yellow fan throughout I'm happy to say that I'll be continuing to watch this for years to come
After seeing O'rangers coming with a strong start and ending with a crash, Kinnowin here made a point against that notion. As a captain and as an O'ranger he did his best, and it was shown. I believed the magic of O'rangers was just not there in this Marble League, but I had forgotten that it's always there to surprise us, and Kinnowin made sure to uphold that magic. This Marble League the O'rangers might haven't surprised us properly but did give us hope every time they punched through the starting line with a strong start crushing everyone and showing dust to everyone. That magic is still there, and next year that magic will be much stronger than now and that ever. #GOOOOOOO'RANGERS
Yeah, was surprised that Kinnowin put off an amazing performance this event, thought that they would just get in the lead for a couple of laps but ultimately crash and burn, this was very surprising
@@ideally07 I was saying to myself, don't do this to me orangers, you've gotten my hopes up before don't do this again, but can say that it was an amazing performance by them
Awesome season! Thanks for all of your effort and time you put into the games. The detail is incredible! I can’t wait until ML2022! I’ll have to catch up on Marbella until then ;)
Thank you so very much. I had a lot of fun watching this year, and it's always a highlight in my year. #QuackAttack at 11th place is a bit sad. But I'm so excited to have our team hoast 2022!!!
Crazy Cat's Eyes had an incredible season. I'll never get over the disqualification. A MINIMUM of 8 points in that event would have had CCE tied for Silver, whereas a finish of 3rd or better would have seen CCE win the whole thing. Gutted.
This is especially true considering the fact that their true position in that event would have taken a point away from everyone who ended the ML ahead of them. A mockery of sport.
Absolutely excellent production on this one, y'all keep getting better and better every year 💜 I loved the fireworks over the credits, the added lighting was a really nice touch! One of these years Hazers will take Gold, but they put up a great fight this time around
Good finish Bolts, it wasn't what we wanted, but middle of the pack isn't all that bad, plus we even got a medal! Well done, can't wait till next year!
The Finale is coming on, thanks to the Crazy Cat's Eyes for their amazing works on hosting Marble League 2021 and I'll say good luck to the all teams for this final event. And, thanks for JMR guys to make this happen. I can't wait for Marbula 1 Season 3 and Marble League 2022.
Unfortunately, the starting position completely distorted the final of this Marble League. As soon as I saw the reverse order, I realised that the Hazers and Raspberry Racers were very unlikely to win the marble league, the first turn came too early and was too tight, forcing the Hazers and Racers to crash into the marbles directly in front of them, which very quickly relegated them to being far behind the rest. And if a gap at the front can be bridged, it is impossible when 3 or 4 marbles are isolated at the back as there are not enough collisions to gain speed. Racers and Hazers were robbed. That's quite sad I read the description though, congratulations for this ML Jelle, don't get me wrong, your work is utterly amazing. I just hope it will be patched for the next one.
I know this is just marbles, and all fun and games. But I'm stupidly disappointed in that starting order leading to Raspberries being unlikely to do well. SO disappointed.... :( edit: I see you have already adressed this and will take it as a learning point for future leagues. That's good..
@@virusness1564 as someone said, "At the first turn when the marbles all get bunched up, that's when the actual position gets decided... The marbles in the middle get pushed forward and those at the back get pushed backwards (the ones at the front usually stay there). Mellows just wedged themselves and got into the right place to get that shove. Hazies and Rasps on the other hand just got pushed backwards and had no draft or help for the rest of the race and just fell behind."
I must have been three years old. Sitting in my mother's kitchen with a large (to me HUGE) stainless steel mixing bowl and half a dozen marbles. Someone had shown me how to swirl the bowl to make the marbles roll around inside it... The sound of the rolling marbles is still in my ears -- it fascinated me and I swirled the bowl and watched the marbles, choosing one or another as being in the lead, or more energetic than the others... It must have driven my mother crazy, but at least she knew where I was and what I was doing. This has long been one of my favorite "earliest memories". It may be why I am so drawn to the Marble Races here. BUT the thing that I only just realized is that the ongoing narrative about who was in the lead wasn't in my own inner voice. I just had this memory with Greg Woods doing the voice over.... "Stripey yellow takes the lead from the green eye, and white presses forward to take second if it can..." Thanks to all who work to make these videos happen. It appeals to the aging adult that I have become as much as it appeals to the child I was. Miniature anything (medals, chairs, exit gates...) has always touched my imagination... Thank you and thank you again for all the joy you bring.
For the record, there are at least three incidents here that could have shaken up the scores of every team: E9 - Blue Eye disqualification E10 - Savage Speeders error in results E16 - Rizzy starting last I hope we can address this in the future. Every competitor worked hard for Marble league only to be demolished by these kinds of incidents. The E10 incident might not have a huge impact compared to the other incidents but it is crucial if it happens in a fight for podium where the scores are significantly large.
@@Leo-vp3ez it doesn't matter. The fact that you just got randomly assigned in the grid is simply injustice. There should have been a qualifier in this kind of circuit race. You just need to think outside the box.
@FireMarble seems like you're not going deeper to the problem and you always go to the surface. Its a circuit race and a qualifier is necessary here. It really doesn't matter if someone wins from last every position in the grid has a probability of winning it is only the lowest from last place but again just look on my reply to Leo about that. Sick and tired of these kind of reasoning as well.
@FireMarble Jelle team knocked out the qualifier for the reason of the video being too long but they really intended to go on a qualifier as it is clearly fair than being randomly assigned in a grid. We cannot put them all in one row since the track is narrow.
Seriously. The starting grid should have been in championship order or there should have been a qualifying round to determine the starting order. Reverse championship order is the dumbest possible choice.
Ah, that was a rough finale for my boys the Hazers. Once you get in the back in this event, it seems you're pretty much done 😓 More medals then any other teams coming into this and just missed the podium, the heartbreak is real. Still an incredibly fun season, and looking forward to what everyone brings for 2022!
Rojo Rollers are still my favorite team. They were treated harshly by other teams in the middle of the event, but the last two events plus their bronze medal shows they have great potential. Looking forward to next season!
The graphic showing what the race results would mean for the overall standings was very helpful :)
Sad that the event is over, but excited for next year :)
Good job mullbinde83
Regardless of who wins today, i just want to take my time to thank Jelle for another amazing year of Marble League. As a mellow yellow fan, this marble league was a roller coaster for me. There was a point where I felt like we were completely out of it and then we vaulted up into the top three out of nowhere. This was such a fun series to watch and it’s my first time watching through since the marblympics. I’ll be back next year for sure
i thought we had no chance of winning especially when we left the top 10 altogether but im so happyyyyyyyu
If this was formula 1 mellow yellow would get "driver of the day" 😉
Hazers and Raspberry Racers really choked in the last event, it was theirs for the taking and they couldn't handle the pressure. Mellow Yellow stepped up and put in a champion's performance right when it mattered.

Same here, I was so happy to see my team win!!
Fromthe top to 5th
As a raspberry racer fan, we were glad to be your rival for the majority of this years league. I wish you guys good luck next season.
Absolutely heartbreaking finish as a Hazers fan. Ggs though, we'll get yall next year :)
They did our team dirty man... I'm not hating the marble league... But the way they start second from last because they're the second team in overall standing is really unfair for me...
There's a lot to bargain if you're dead last from the beginning... Except it's sand rally...
Not really a fan for this finale... We got rob..
But you are a nice team? I like the hazers... CCE FAN! 🐱
Yeah, on such a short, straight, uneventful track starting near the back was a death sentence. I think they screwed the Hazers a few times this year. They needed to run time trials for placements more often, too many events this year just went based on standings order
Raspberry Racers also got hosed the same way. I agree that this wasn't the best setup.
Come on, we say that like... every year...
Seeing my Green Ducks stay at 11th after a mistake taken on the conveyer belt was sad, but knowing they are hosting ML-2022 is well worth it! #QUACKATTACK
I was hoping they'd host. No other team has had so many bad breaks. It would suck for them not qualify next time.
Agreed. A couple conveyor belt mistakes in the middle there were BRUTAL! No podium, but we found a way to auto qualify!
With Crazy Cats Eye beating the host curse, I think your Green Ducks will have just as good or maybe even better results for next years event. Probably going to see them flying the V a few times.
Looking forward to next year too as a Mellow Yellow fan.
As a green ducks supporter, I'm delighted they'll host next year. Then at least they can be a huge disappointment for their home crowd.
Not only did we lose out on winning this year due to that, we'll also lose next year due to the host curse
I know everybody's hyped for the final standings, but as a Minty Maniacs fan seeing our team win a medal and gold in that was the highlight of my Marble League. #MintCondition

Great end to a disappointing ML for us.#MintCondition
After the rough go at both Marbula 1 last Season and this year's Marble League after auto-qualifying, this was so satisfying. I don't care that it only pushed them one up in the standings, the Minty Maniacs just redeemed themselves and are once again the best team. #MintCondition
Well, as a Rasperry AND Minty supporter, I am kind of p... about it. It's like they handed the Minty's a medal for doing so badly while sabotaging the Rasberries for doing so well. It feels like an empty medal.
I'm just glad to see fellow minty maniacs fans today. Cheers and let's hope for the best for next season. :)
As both a O'rangers and Minty Maniacs fan, it was a very nice race to see ! Congrats to Mellow Yellow, Raspberry Racers and Gliding Glaciers !
I loved the medal highlighting during this event. It was astonishing how many teams had a shot at winning the League even in this last event.
Crazy Cats Eyes, thank you. You showed guts, resilience, a fierce competitive spirit, and gave hope.

22 laps of disappointment for the Hazers, they were out of it from the second turn. Well earned by Mellow Yellow but I’ll be #hazeamaze for life
It was a bad performance by them. The reverse starting order didn't help, but they probably would have choked regardless. I say this as a Hazers fan. They really have a 50:50 performance ratio.
It was the biggest event of their lives, and they looked like they just didn’t want to be there
Agreed. Starting order was unfair. It is telling that the teams that started in the back, stayed in the back the whole time.
turns out sandbagging the other events for a better starting order could have been the winning strategy here
The ordering for the final event sux. But nonetheless the hazers put up a poor performance. Still hazemaze, but man, that was too much of an uphill battle
I've been a Team Momo fan since 2016. However, I'm glad to have been watching this amazing channel since then, regardless of who wins it all.
We got it next year
My heart dropped when I saw the marbles lined up in reverse order.
@TheRailLeaguer I do otherwise qualifiers shouldn't exist scrap marblula1 qualiys completely do reverse order every grand prix that's fair
Thank you!
You're welcome! I'm very happy with both Minos Fylaktos and Time Check!
While I'm salty about the starting order as a Raspberry Racers fan, I just want to say thank you all for all you do with these. They have amazing production value for something like marbles, and I look foreward to watching every time I see the notification pop up.
Thank you for all you do!
#RASPBERRYROBUST2022
While I'm not shocked about how well we did, Raspberry Racers never do well in events like this. I'm just disappointed in Rizzy. #RASPBERRYROBUST
Starting in reverse championship order seems like a strange choice, especially in an event where it's more difficult than it looks to pass. These kinds of events are our kryptonite though. Luckily I heard there's a young marble in the pipeline, Raz, who's specialty is track events like this.
Its such a disappointing end. If Rizzy went from 1st to last, I could accept that. But this reverse order start just leaves a yucky feeling inside.
According to the description, "The marbles will start in reverse order compared to the standings after E15, to give all marbles a chance to win".
"If we do a "normal" grid (leader on pole), this has a high risk of a runaway leader with a big margin which will make the race less interesting."
Red Number 3 will cry knowing this. Pure domination 2018 SMR.

Yeah, that was kind of unfair towards the Raspberry Racers. They kind of got punished for doing so well up to this point.
@@swanpride same with the hazers, they both did bad because of the starting positions
Honestly, I don't like Marbula One in the ML. SMR should have been the final event
On god they did it to give the other teams a chance and robbed the raspberry racers of their gold.

@@JellesMarbleRuns Well, if we cannot get an actual Winter ML, maybe a Winter ML DLC/expansion for the game being developed. :)

Good fights and best of luck to all next ML!
if that was truly the case then mellow yellow shouldnt have been able to get 3rd. at the end of the day it comes down to whether the marbles wanted it more or not and mellow yellow wanted it
Seriously, this favored an upset by a lot.

There was an amusing point when they were actually in dead last (rather than their 15th place finish), but the rest of the field was such that they would have Still won the entire league if that was where it had ended. Too bad there were several laps left and that changed.

How are the contestants even selecteed

O'Rangers despite finishing 10th finished 5 points out of 4th place! It's really only disappointing because of how bunched up everyone was.
Proud of their run. I also feel a sort of kindness with the Raspberry Racers so I call this a good season.
The ducks had their chance but they messed up on the elevator and that cost them
But at least they'll host the next one
That hit on the escalator was heartbreaking. I was rooting for the Ducks and the Hazers expecting the latter being the only one having a chance to win it this event, and then that emotional rollercoaster happened.
What a disappointing season for the speeders. We were doing so well only to squander all of our good fortune in the end. I didn’t expect you to win the Marble League, but I certainly didn’t expect you to fall apart! This team needs to refocus during the off-season or I fear we’ll be in for more of the same next year. I do have hope though, you can never count us out.

Speeders didnt do very well in the last two events, causing Speeders to fall from 5th to 8th then 12th overall
Why? They won 2 trophies! They must retire/Fail to Qualify!
Personally I think these long race events need to have some sort of M1-style qualifier beforehand - the top two teams were forced to start at the back and they were never able to recover.
But regardless, hearty congrats to Mellow Yellow - one of the most consistent performers (besides last year's aberration) finally gets their title.
Thanks, but Mellow Yellow isn't exactly consistent, they got dead last in 2 events in a row and still ended up winning. Nonetheless #Keepitmellow!

For next season, I believe there should be a qualifier with fastest time.
Now I’ve seen your comment about adding the ceremony after the last race, with the reason being people might not watch it. Therefore I think the qualifier should be its own video, and the race/ceremony also its own video. Now this might not make for the longest video, so I’ve got some ideas about how you can make it longer
1. Let Greg do some post qualifying interviews
- How do the teams feel going into the last event, with the qualifiers done.
- How do the fans feel, and what are their predictions.
- How are the coaches feeling about their teams performance this year.
2. Add more qualifying rounds
- Let one marble from each team have 3 laps to set the quickest time.
- Let every marble in each team set 1 lap and let the quickest from each team continue on to the race, to add a bit of competitiveness inside teams as well.
3. Show some entertainment from the hosting team. They can put up maybe a nice show to fill some time.
4. Polls
Have fan answer polls throughout the season and show the results after qualifying
Let me know what you think of these ideas, and if it might be applied :)
Also, #MomoStrong
Hope to have next year be like this years start of the season🤞
I hope there's a qualifier next year. Just seeing Rizzy have to start 16th felt like it was already over before the race started. But other than that the Marble League was a great time, thank you for putting this all together.
You probably won't see this, but might I make a small suggestion?
In events like the relay and 1mm (I think that's the length), the marbles aren't in direct competition with each other so instead of the top two from each heat, perhaps a more fair method of advancing would be:
Top marble from each heat plus the four fastest times and then do an S-bracket for the semi-finals and have the top marble from each semi-final advance plus the two fastest times.

I literally felt like throwing up once green ducks were provisional first place holders at one point, but Yellup came through! So proud of this team!
We have achieved what we deserved in 2016
Hazers have a good tradition of losing everything in the last race.
Just found this channel and as somebody who was a mellow yellow fan throughout I'm happy to say that I'll be continuing to watch this for years to come
Mellow Yellow, you did me proud. I cannot believe it happened! Fan for so long and you did it!
The use of a reverse grid needs to be reconsidered. It took the competition and turned it on its head. A bad idea.
Agreed. Qualifiers exist for a reason.

Gutted.
EYES ON THE PRIZE FOREVER!
This is especially true considering the fact that their true position in that event would have taken a point away from everyone who ended the ML ahead of them. A mockery of sport.
It would have been a minimum of 12 points as their worst position would have been 4th, that and everyone else losing their positions as well.
Looks like this is our version of the host curse :-(
Absolutely excellent production on this one, y'all keep getting better and better every year 💜 I loved the fireworks over the credits, the added lighting was a really nice touch!
One of these years Hazers will take Gold, but they put up a great fight this time around

That's quite sad
I read the description though, congratulations for this ML Jelle, don't get me wrong, your work is utterly amazing.
That's good..
they had 22 laps to move up. at that point, its their own fault
I've waited 5 years for this moment! #KeepItMellow
"Stripey yellow takes the lead from the green eye, and white presses forward to take second if it can..."
Thanks to all who work to make these videos happen. It appeals to the aging adult that I have become as much as it appeals to the child I was. Miniature anything (medals, chairs, exit gates...) has always touched my imagination...
Thank you and thank you again for all the joy you bring.
For the record, there are at least three incidents here that could have shaken up the scores of every team:
E9 - Blue Eye disqualification
E10 - Savage Speeders error in results
E16 - Rizzy starting last
I hope we can address this in the future. Every competitor worked hard for Marble league only to be demolished by these kinds of incidents. The E10 incident might not have a huge impact compared to the other incidents but it is crucial if it happens in a fight for podium where the scores are significantly large.
There may be a 5 lap qualifying race like last years
look at Minty Fresh last year in the marathon, he started in last and finished in 1st, you can't say it's an incident
It's disappointing that the deciding event punishes those who have been successful insofar. That seems incredibly backwards.
Seriously. The starting grid should have been in championship order or there should have been a qualifying round to determine the starting order. Reverse championship order is the dumbest possible choice.
@@MichaelM-uw3mk Gotta let the limers get at least a small chance lol
As a Hazers, fan I'm hearing you. Then again, Mellow Yellow came from one spot ahead of us (14th starting position) and won Gold, so...
@@frixyg2050 people really bitching about the grand prix layout that has been adopted with every racing sport. Even mario cart has it.
Like an elephant that has its own tail for a trunk
Ah, that was a rough finale for my boys the Hazers. Once you get in the back in this event, it seems you're pretty much done 😓 More medals then any other teams coming into this and just missed the podium, the heartbreak is real. Still an incredibly fun season, and looking forward to what everyone brings for 2022!
Rojo Rollers are still my favorite team. They were treated harshly by other teams in the middle of the event, but the last two events plus their bronze medal shows they have great potential. Looking forward to next season!
What an excellent production. Thnx JMR!
