@@bearhunter197 That is only a minor part of the reason why we hunt foxes. Everything needs to eat to survive. We hunt to manage the animals numbers because if we didn't then these animals would die a much more painful death brought on by the spread of diseases. Sarcoptic mange can be spread by foxes to dogs and humans and can kill. it's a mite that irritates the skin and can slowly eat away at the hosts body causing them to scratch themselves to death or die through starvation. Of course there are other diseases such as rabies (which we all know about). Lessening an animals numbers means they less frequently come into contact with poorly animals of their own species and it's usually the poorly or weaker ones which are taken through these forms of hunting. I'd rather make it clear to people than just put a one lined reply which tars us all with the same brush.

@@jimnowak3960 Well we train our dogs too by just letting them run, usually when the dog is young and needs more experience. In Finland we have strong fox population and we try to keep the population in check to prevent possible problems from too big population.

We don't kill our fox in Texas. It's all about the chase. Our dogs can run all night long or until the fox goes to ground. That ends the hunt.

Just to make sure, are you really shooting at +70 meters with shotgun? And it works?
Yes! But only with TSS Tungsten loads. Longest shot I have took was 78m at fox and all pellets went through the animal.
