Hazelnut Trees from Seed - 4 years later

Hi everyone, today I'm giving you an update on my Hazelnut Trees I grew from seed 4 years ago.
I've got 4 left and I've kept them in pots their hole life and done various different pruning to them.
I'll keep you updated on these and my many other trees grown from seed.

Thank you! I am accidentally growing one from seed after a squirrel buried one in one of the flower pots outside my door last year and it sprouted! I repotted it and it's growing nicely!

I also found your channel just now from the first hazelnut Video. I'll definitely subscribe, especially for the tree content. I moved onto a piece of land with both mixed forest and plantation forest and videos like this and the first hazelnut one are a good resource on growing trees that can be scaled up. I'll need to be thrifty in order to produce enough trees to make the forest more vibrant and rehabilitate the plantation.
I'll keep an eye out as you share your experiences and I'll try to learn from them, thanks very much.

I'm about to put some hazel nuts in the soil to sprout.
Kind of hope they grow more quickly in the ground.
Would like to eat some eventually.

I’m a real novice and I’m a bit confused as to what you are planting. Mine have a green husk around the shell and the nut. Did you remove the husks before planting??

how much can a hazelnut grown from seed grow maximally in width, at what distance should it be planted?

I planted a hazelnut about 3 years ago and now it is 5 feet tall and 4 feet wide just as an idea. I will cut it to the ground in winter so the new shoots go straight up. I plan to use them as supports for my clematis in a few years.

It’s depends on your environment and conditions but probably 3-5yrs.
