I really need to read Lonesome Dove. I’ve not heard one person say they disliked it. Good to see you!

I can relate to getting immersed in religious and religious-contemplative-philosophy books. A while back, I read Plotinus' Enneads for two months solid. It deserves multiple reads, or maybe a little bit every day.
I have to thank you for your review of Demon Copperhead. I nearly DNF'ed it halfway through but was glad when I finished. Not my favourite reading experience, but the author redeemed herself at the end. Lol

Have you tried John Irving, I get the feeling you would enjoy the black humour. Best known are The World according to Garp, and Cider House Rules, both of which are a good starting point.
