  • Blocked drain. Nasty #badbuilders
    Typical job where I graft like a good un to find a problem that is well beyond my control.
    Drains can be built over if done a cording to building regulations but I am sure this job must have slipped under the net.
    I won't tell you what I found as I don't want to spoil it for you.
    Enjoy the video

    These are the ones the drain team love watching Tony, the jobs that are a challenge, saying that i know its not much fun for you working till after dark.
    You did well catching that buried manhole discharging, David Attenborough couldn't have done a better job.
    We would love to know the outcome of this one.
    Best wishes from Wales.

    Good job you told us it was the hosepipe when at the neighbour's, started to think it was all the tea you'd drunk through the day. 😂😂 looking like a headache for the neighbours having to put that right.

    I have watched quite a few of another drain unblockers channel and they are not as conscientious as you. They leave it as soon as it starts flowing but don't find out the cause.

      @@drain-unblocker I hate the videos where they unblock the pipe but it is just running away slowly or obviously backing up a bit and they leave it as that.

    When you said the "grisly truth" I had visions of a collapsed pipe under the extension with a massive void / sink hole surrounding it all filled with sewage, with only a matter of time before their extension either subsided or their floor in the extension collapsed into a sea of sewage underneath. All sorts of horrors can happen cant they Tony where drain pipes collapse, especially under a building and they dont get picked up on till massive damage under a property has already happened.
    I would imagine that hidden manhole was probably all full of sewage inside which is why it took so much water going through, as you were emptying that manhole as well as clearing the pipe itself. Can never understand why people hide or bury manholes so access cannot be gained to them, surely under that extension they should have filled in the manhole and put a straight piece of pipe in to replace it, after all, there was access to the drain put in just the other side of the extension.
    Probably an ongoing problem that they likely know about but dont want the hassle of digging up their extension, or the cost of doing so.

      What a great and descriptive comment thank you, yes the mind boggles when I think of these guys just ignoring the long tem issues of hiding a manhole and your on the money I recon that MH was completely full prior to me jetting it.

    Do you ever think to yourself that the amount of water your putting down the drain with limited success and knowing the drain runs under the extension that the water is not blasting into there extension next door ,

    • @drain-unblocker
      @drain-unblocker  2 месяца назад +1

      No, drain was not clearing as quickly as it should have due to compacted sewage entering the line via the branch in a covered over MH. Lets also be practical here, a drain buried 4ft deep aint going into the living space.
