That's harder to get than people think. The supreme court has ruled your defense attorney sleeping through your trial is effective counsel.
Oh and never ask for counsel. While you have a right to counsel you can't call it anything but a lawyer otherwise you wave your right to counsel. Never hire a "competent" attorney. That's the worst thing a lawyer can say about another member of the Bar without risking sanctions.
Oh and never remain silent during interrogation. While you have the right to remain silent actually remaining silent doesn't count. You must speak the words.
God I love America. Everything so straight, normal, and easy to understand in the justice system.

I believe when someone is used to toxic relationships, in childhood and/or adulthood, they can get bored easily once they are in a loving and calm environment. Toxicity looks exciting compared to what they have at home, so they get themselves a new lover. Criminality is part of one's behaviour not their personality as it is learnt. Until they are rehabilitated, they will continue to have a criminal mindset. Most offenders' crimes escalate over time.

Chad should have made an investment in the services of a Private Investigator as soon as the relationship seemed serious. That would have uncovered her criminal history of fraud. It would have given Chad an opportunity to remain alive.

In the Flinstones cartoon, Fred had the great gazoo perched on his shoulder, calling him dum dum and offering poor advice. If you pause frame at 8:18 in this video, we can observe Gazoos audacious female counterpart soothsaying another unsuspecting man in society. Now we know where Dr Grandes keen human behavior insight derives from.

Reminds me of a case close to me. One of my close coworkers was murdered by a fall guy hitman boyfriend. In a month, I will be 10 years older than he ever got to be. Scott Anthony Smith, 4/5/68-4/2/03. Shot to death in broad daylight in a nice neighborhood. Gunman took his own life. She skated.
